  1. Sigh!

Evolution is the change in allele frequency over time in a population of organisms. Not natural selection, speciation, or ” the theory of evolution. ” when you mean the theory of evolution by natural selection.

Aside from that, a very good video!

  2. Nice. Good luck with your project. I think you are tackling the useful dissemination of complex information in a unique way. Have you thought of providing a few “foot notes” in the credits where viewers could be directed to more specific explanations of the topics? Maybe that’s outside the scope of what you want to accomplish; just a thought.

Thats splitting hairs a bit…dont you think…. hes offereing a simplified explanation of evolution (by natural selection) for the uninformed, for those of us that arent biologists, zoologists , or Richard Dawkins, and its a pretty good job he`s done. Hats off to him, good video, very easy to understand!

MODs…some of my comment there appears in red in a different font..i dont know how that happened, or how to edit that out, it wasnt intentional.

There is no theory of evolution as evolution is a fact and the theory is the theory of evolution by natural selection.

Splitting hairs here is what creationist do. We must be precise. Thunderfoot, potholer 54 and other are always that precise and so am I.

Besides, did you not read this?

Aside from that, a very good video!

  6. yes i did read that. and i actually agree with you, on all your points on your original post, you are of course correct. i`m not looking for any argument here, what irked me a little was the “sigh” part. the guy did a decent video. how many creationists will understand terms like “allele frequency”? That was my point, video did a decent job of explaining the fact of evolution, in easy to understand terms. just thought your “sigh” criticism was a little unfair.

  7. Neodarwinian is correct. Claiming that evolution is heritable traits passed through generations is an over-generalization. Do we need over-generalizations? Is this process overly complex? Today the answer is “yes” because the majority of students in the US, (and perhaps elsewhere), have been let down by their science education. (This, I hope we all agree, is true beyond a shadow of a doubt). Perhaps in the future, if science standards improve, we can all have better tools to understand an already well understood process.

    Sigh!

  8. This is an excellent video for the American audience. Why? Ask yourself the question “Can Sarah Palin understand it?” If you answer “Yes.” then it’ll get somewhere in America. “Allele frequency” isn’t Sarah Palin territory, and not even the territory in most American universities.
