Craig Davis Atlanta: Pastor Spreads HIV Among Congregation?

0

Pastor Craig Lamar Davis (pictured) of Atlanta’s Full Gospel Baptist Church was arrested on July 22 for reckless conduct, when police investigators discovered that he has HIV and had allegedly been indulging in unprotected sex with several of his congregation members, reports WVIG.  Now one of his congregation victims have come forward with her story.

Thus far, two women have pressed charges against the married preacher. One of the victims, Ronita McAfee, told police officials that she met the pastor on Facebook and began communicating with him.  The online relationship soon progressed into sexual romps at the pastor’s home.  McAfee says a few months in to the affair, Davis revealed that one of his former girlfriends had tested positive for HIV. The seemingly concerned preacher allegedly advised McAfee that the virus would not kill her if she tested positive and even went as far as to suggest some drugs that she could take to avoid infection.

McAfee knew something was fishy about her relationship with Davis when the house where they would meet for their trysts was foreclosed.  He also kept refusing to get tested for HIV at her urging, which was a red flag to her that he knew of his status.

While McAfee luckily tested negative for the HIV virus, she decided to report Davis to the police and a warrant was put out for his arrest — McAfee actually made history as the first person to file charges against someone for HIV reckless behavior in Georgia’s Clayton County.

  1. He also kept refusing to get tested for HIV at her urging, which was a red flag to her that he knew of his status.

This stupid women was having unprotected sex. That is tantamount to injecting HIV virus into her arm. Further, she knew he was handsome and promiscuous.

Ironically she would be safer if he had been tested, because they he would be on drugs that would lower his HIV counts to undetectable. BC’s famous Dr. Montanner has argued we should stop prosecuting HIV+ people who have sex.If they are on retrovirals, they are not endangering others to any significant degree.

It sounds like he was on retroviral drugs. The women was not infected. He thought he was putting her at great risk, but was not.

What a scammy con man — trying to trick someone into a lifetime HIV infection on the grounds with drugs it is not necessarily fatal. That came naturally for a preacher.

  2. He knowingly evaded disclosing the possibility of his disease. He would be liable if she was to become infected. There have been cases in which people with HIV have been brought up on attempted murder charges. Yes this was decades ago and there have been many medical advancements, but the preacher was caught in a very big lie which can ruin the lives of others.

  3. He wasn’t unprotected; he had/has the protection of God.

Which, come to think of it renders the all knowing all seeing One a voyeur; in both the sexual and sadistic senses of the word.

Set your watch sit back and wait? I fear it could be a very long wait indeed. But, meanwhile, let’s keep up the ridicule!

  4. Xtian morals Pffft! They can either forgive him, turn the other cheek or stone him to death with the women.

Matthew 5:39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
Luke 6:30 Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back.
Proverbs 20:22 Do not say, “I’ll pay you back for this wrong!” Wait for the LORD, and he will avenge you.
Deuteronomy 7:2 If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant,

Leviticus 19:18 ‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself.

Ah! Yes! From The Lord of The Rings, right???

I feel sorry for this slimy person’s wife who he has also not only cheated on but risked infecting her.

I’ve a hunch their bed has long been cold, and the only reason she posted bail was to save face/protect the church. You know, the usual.

Maybe Ms McAfee has anti-virus built into her system ?

      (Sorry, runs for cover !)

Ha! Good shot. But, with religion failure is not an option; “it comes complete with the package.”

  5. From the article:

The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away !

  6. At a handful of people have been convicted for having unprotected sex while hiv positive in Canada and received lengthy (for Canada) jail sentences for assault. Some of the defendants had their sentences reduced or stayed on appeal if they “used condoms and had a low viral load” due to these circumstances making the risks much lower.

This is very selfish behaviour and should be punished. They are risking another’s life for personal gratification.

  7. Craig Davis Atlanta: Pastor Spreads HIV Among Congregation?

Maybe its a regional culture thing!

    Family skeleton in a cupboard!!!

Many decades ago, there was a great uncle of mine who was a Xtian minister. He fled the the UK to avoid defrocking, because of a sexual involvement with an unmarried parishioner who became pregnant.

He went to the USA where he was a pastor in a mission church in Atlanta for many years.

    Some things don’t change much!

  8. I know people are very upset about this news and trust me it is heart breaking and disturbing….but everybody wants to look at the pastor and down him to shame for what he did….GOD Will handle him accordingly but what about the women who slept with not only a pastor but a married pastor….isn’t that adultery….i don’t think charges should had been to be pressed cause in my opinion that’s still like a bandaid on adultery….that’s why i say folks need to stop with the fb relationships….so who is more wrong the pastor because he a man of God who spread HIV while married or the women who committed fornication and adultery…..it’s all wrong and there is no sin bigger than he next…

Its ironic how many Christians ignore certain parts of the bible. Like chapter 8 from the Book of John:

And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

Perhaps it was the sin of hypocrisy that offends the most. A pastor is supposed to be MORE virtuous than his flock, is he not? So not only was he guilty of adultery but also guilty of transmitting HIV. IMO people find hypocrisy very objectionable even without implicating the wicked women who succumbed to his charms.

Knowingly spreading HIV is extremely contemptible and inexcusable.

      GOD Will handle him accordingly

Which, as gods don’t exist, means doing nothing with a superior air!

but what about the women who slept with not only a pastor but a married pastor….isn’t that adultery….i don’t think charges should had been to be pressed cause in my opinion that’s still like a bandaid on adultery….

That makes no difference to wilfully spreading AIDS, and in no way mitigates for his conduct.

that’s why i say folks need to stop with the fb relationships….so who is more wrong the pastor because he a man of God who spread HIV while married or the women who committed fornication and adultery

Only someone with theist blinkers would be unable to tell the gravity of the difference!

…..it’s all wrong and there is no sin bigger than he next…

Funny that the courts have a range of penalties according to the gravity of the offence. They seem to be able to evaluate the level of damage or antisocial activity committed. Perhaps that’s because they use a civil / criminal moral code, and think about evidence, rather than blindly following dogma.

  9. There’s a girl celisse Winfrey at Dejahs Hair Salon in Decatur Ga who was having sex with this man and is still having sex with other men without knowing if she is clear of the disease!

  10. It’s interesting how the initial arrest generates such interest, but there is no update here, telling us that HIV science has been on trial in this case all this week. The article talks of the “HIV virus” as if it has been isolated. And the tone here isn’t about getting at the facts and evidence at all; it’s more important to these commenters to pass judgment on a man for his alleged failings. What came out in the trial this week was that Craig Davis was not a “married pastor” but a separated leader of the men’s ministry at his church; he had a history of using crack cocaine (which probably led to his sobriety and “ministry” but more importantly threw off the results of the “HIV test”); and there is no such thing as an accurate HIV test result. He testified that he slept with one of these two women, but not both. Debunking the junk science presented by the prosecution could fill several articles at a science-and-reason site like this, but I see nothing. So if you don’t mind, I’ll just post a review of peer-reviewed, mainstream literature on how many factors can cross-react with the HIV “antibody” tests: http://www.virusmyth.com/aids/hiv/cjtestfp.htm.
