Great publicity!

Would like to see similar publicity in Tehran, Texas, Jerusalem, and Mumbai, nailed onto the door of every Mosque, Church, Synagogue and Temple.

Just seeing the image of the plane flying peacefully over the sunlit towers was especially moving to me. I must've stared at it for a good 30 seconds or so. What a stark reminder of the way things ought to be... [*sigh*]...

i don't know, i wouldn't be too keen on TGD being translated into farsi and posted in Tehran. Who knows how soon the fatwa will come down then, ala Rushdie.

it would help to make our case though.

while I don't think penn & teller are known so well in germany, it's still an awesome quote.

 avatarI like the background for that advertisement much better than the one on the flyers on the home page of this site, in almost every way.

The golden hue and dramatic angle on the towers emphasises what was lost, the airplane flying overhead points much better to how and thereby why it was lost, as well as counterpointing the 'ascent of reason' because it is flying toward the light to escape the clouds. It's altogether a much more satisfying composition.

Is there any chance of getting this design incorporated into some downloadable and printable flyers as well?

the germans will probably not have too much trouble associating it with "imagine" by john lennon.

Adverts in Germany often have a lot of English words in them - it shows that the product is "hip and modern". Most of the German youth know basic English, and English-language movies are often screened in English, and English-language pop songs are played on the radio. It won't be too many decades before Germany and the Netherlands are bilingual.

 avatarThis "imagine no religion" is not the title, but the motto of the ad campaign. And it does play with the words of the John-Lennon-song, well-known to educated people.
The title is "Der Gottes-Wahn", an exact translation of The God Delusion. Direct translations of book titles are rare, this provides hope for the quality of translation.
