avatarJesus does love you. So much so that if you don't love him back he will commit you to eternal damnation and hellfire, a suffering greater than can be imagined.

The unfortunate thing for Jesus is that he's dead. Or a zombie. Either way his credibility is no longer what it once was.

avatarVery funny video, I liked that, however the chances of Jesus actually loving anyone are practically nil.

I know I have said all this before but I have been trawling all over the place to find a Non- Christian document that actually proves Jesus existed. I have read about documents being changed and altered, even the great historian Tacitus got his stuff messed with, its hopeless. Worse still I have read that it would have been completely impossible for Jesus to have grown up in Nazareth because up until 137 AD it was a grave site for a village nearby! Jesus was good at raising the dead so I sure company wouldn't have been a problem but still I have my doubts!

So, my challenge to the religious is to do one thing for me, go and find a document that shows he existed that has not been fiddled with or made up on the spot. Go on, I dare you! hehehhe

Cheers,
Philip

avatarIs anyone going to the convention at the end of September?

avatarTake heart. The answer is simple: Jezus was a god delusionist. Not the first, definitely not the last. Just a mixed up kid who got in trouble with the law. The fact that he spawned an army of other god delusionists is unfortunate but, hey, we're working on them.

avatar@detox: after reading The Jesus Puzzle it looks like the odds are good that the earthly Jesus as we know him was an invention of the anonymous author 'Mark', who drew on Paul's spirit realm 'son of man' and combined that idea with other threads of thought that were popular at the time.

 avatarThat's right:

Jesus is his own father
God is his own son
The Holy Ghost did it

and if you don't believe that,
you're going to Hell

avatarHave you noticed how Christian Churches (historically) have only been selling the "jesus loves you" line for a relatively short period of time?
The method works like this - set up a system so that everybody feels riddled with guilt and unworthy of love, let it poison society for a couple of thousand years then at a time when communication systems are working well on a world-wide basis you can tell them :"Sure, you're shits, but Jesus loves you anyway. he will forgive your shittiness, clean you up and take you in to paradise for ever."
In marketing that's called "creating the need." Works every time!

avatarI'll be there Scooternyc. It should be fun to see how many regulars on this site do show up....especially the Brits.

avatarI would love to go to the convention but sadly having no money seems to be a problem for the Airline and hotel companies! Unless I "borrow" my boss's credit card, I wonder if he will mind?...

 avatarGood vid.

I wish I could go to this convention - all of the people I woiuld like to hear speak in one place. May never happen again. But I just don't have the money right now.

avatarMuch more amusing than I thought it would be. Must be the subtlety and accent.

I'll be at the convention. It will be my Woodstock.

avatarI sure wish I could go, but it's a long trip and too many prior committments. I'm so jealous of all of you who are going. I'm sure we will hear interesting reports when you all get back.

By the way, I saw the documentary called "Godless in America" about the American Atheists and Madalyn Murray O'Hair. Interesting perspective on atheists (that we are just normal, nice people - we don't bite). Why is that such a shock to the "Godfull"?

Jesus is his own dad. No wonder he and his mother didn't get along very well.

Enjoyable cartoon.

Same as a few others here I can't afford to go to the convention, but hopefully most of the content will be recorded and added to the archives of this website anyway.

avatarGreat Video. I wish I could go as well, but no extra money to go. Does anyone know whether or not it will be broadcast and put on the internet for all to see?

 avatarksskidude:

Yes indeed. All the good stuff will be aired on line "live". You can purchase a password by going through the link listed on this site's (RD)web page by clicking on the AAI Convention Info.

Ahh, the convention. I bought a pass two months ago, only to be informed yesterday that they were overbooked and suddenly I'm on a "waiting list" and couldn't go. Then they tried selling me the password. Anybody else have that problem?

 avatarFrom Wikipedia

Syncretism: consists of the attempt to reconcile disparate or contradictory beliefs, often while melding practices of various schools of thought. The term may refer to attempts to merge and analogize several originally discrete traditions, especially in the theology and mythology of religion, and thus assert an underlying unity.

Damn you to hell. Oh....

avatarI wanted to go, but the idea of being penned up in the overflow room watching everything on a monitor isn't very exciting. Oh, and with my luck, the overflow room is exactly where I'd be. I don't think the overflow room is cheaper either.

It will be a great convention though. Hopefully the video from the convention finds its way to this site.

 avatarJesus' love is scary love.

It's the love a stalker.

You want to say... "don't love me so much; go and find another occupation and let me live my life".
