Speaking of cartoons... did anyone see this?

Artist Lars Vilks has made three drawings ridiculing the prophet Mohammed. The prophet is portrayed as a "roundabout dog".
So far three art exhibitions have declined to publish his pictures. The Art Association in Tällerud said no. Then the school Gerlesborgsskolan in the county of Bohuslän said no. Now the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm has also said no.

The one with the ostriches and the Fundamentalist rustlers is just brilliant.

It would be great to work without worrying about opposition, but a large part of science is paying attention to opposition - reasoned arguments from colleagues in the field, AND "alternatively-informed" views from outside the field.

Pehraps the mysterious monkey/ape just shows what was on the minds of cartoonists of the era.

Love the cartoons. We need more satire of the sacred in my opinion. Perhaps if people could see the silliness of their beliefs in a cartoon, they would start to be more embarrassed of what they are actually believing.
