From http://onegoodmove.org :
Bill's guest Lori Lipman Brown of the Secular Coalition for America does a pretty good job of respresenting the atheist position. I was surprised however that she didn't mention what I thought was the most offensive thing Mitt said, namely that freedom requires religion. It's interesting that Bill thinks it no big deal if a presidential candidate ignores the diversity of our country, but is terribly offended if the old fart at K-Mart says Happy Holidays rather than Merry Christmas greeting customers. I also seem to recall last year that Bill was miffed when the White House used the word Holiday rather than Christmas.

avatarI thought she did rather well. She wasn't as polite towards O'Rielly's stupidity as Dawkins and Harris were.

I think she morally dumbfounded him. O'Rielly was reduced to "I know what you're saying makes sense, but I just know it's wrong."

Way to go, Lori!

avatarOne thing I noticed was that she politely refused to allow him to steamroll her into a corner, just kept plodding merrily along with her point and wouldn't let him sidetrack her.

I also noticed that O'Reilly, when it was clear that she wasn't going to back down to him, started referring to the Atheists demands for inclusion as "Whining." That's the best he can do? As if it were wrong to demand that one's government protect the rights of all citizens rather than only those of the majority.

He says he wouldn't whine if the tables were reversed and Christians were a minority in a primarily secular ntaion, but from his incessant whining about the self-made "war on Christmas", we all know THAT is a bunch of BS.

Lori, should you be reading this, you handled Bill quite well, and with style. Great job!

For a TV presenter to invite someone on to a program just to interrupt the end of every sentence as the point of the sentence is being made, is the dirtiest trick in the book. O'Reilly is a disgrace to his trade, and a total shit. Lori Lipman Brown did very well to keep her temper in the face of such loudmouth bullying.

avatarI'm not from the US, but I understand a new president has to swear to "preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the United States" (or words to that effect).

Sounds to me as if he couldn't honestly do that.

OK, I realise that honesty and politics don't mix all that well, but still...

Got it in one.

BillO' is the ultimate hypocrite and liar for claiming that he wouldn't be in the least upset. He has demonstrated it time and time again; his incessant whining about the war on Christmas, his belly-aching about how Olbermann points out his flaws, his threats to people who dare mention, let alone watch Olbermann.. and now, leftist blogs and websites (calling them satan worshipers), and the list goes on.

Partially to her credit, yes. But O'Reilly was actually surprisingly well-behaved in this video. (Relatively speaking.) If he had been on his "top form", she wouldn't have been able to get a word in edgewise.

avatarI understand that the "One nation under God" thing came into being in the US in the 50s to distinguish them from the godless commies. However, if their constitution requires a separation of church and state how can they force children in school to say this?
I think there is a really big problem with this Romney guy. I see him as setting the stage for a theocracy.
No, I can't really see that happening. There are too many denominations. They sort of have a wishy-washy Christian influenced theocracy now. I see him as trying real hard to strengthen it. I see a nation where you need to have faith in order to be a citizen. Isn't that what Bush the First said? Wasn't he the one who introduced Romney the other day?
Yuck.

Bill O'Slimy wouldn't get upset if the tables were turned??? And this is the same guy who "whines" about the so-called war on Christmas every year. He's in the majority and he's already whining. He'd probably be a suicide bomber if he were in the minority.

avatarO'Reilly - an odious, ignorant, arrogant little fuckwit.

In his opening, he exposes his homophobia and conflates (his evident view of) 'perverted' gay marriage with atheism.

That aside [breathing deeply], does anyone else see the similarity between Romney and Max Headroom (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Z-Ud8rbt4Q)?

avatarAh, loofa Bill, what a piece of work.

Loofa Bill, and tried-to-rape-Bette-Midler-with-poppers Geraldo.

What a lovely network FoxNews is.
Bring the children in, push 'em up close to the screen. Give them miniature American flags to wave. Yipee.

Well, you have to understand that politics is the world's second oldest profession. And it's very closely related to the first.

You forgot two of the worst. Mark Fuhrman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Fuhrman) and Ollie North (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ollie_North) are regular contributors/commentators.

 avatarBueller_007-

Wow, no shit?
Geez, I deleted FoxNews off my channel dial years ago, so I didn't hear.

Damn, that just sickens the heart, a media outlet being run by such slime.
Not as heart sickening as Saudi Arabian gang rapists, but it's up there.

Yeah, and they actually have the gall to invite Fuhrman on to discuss RACIAL PROFILING (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLQi5n2AToM) and Ollie North on to advocate ATTACKING IRAN (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apniG9yKHZ4).

Simply disgraceful. How much more blatantly biased can a 'news' source be?

avatarLori should have asked Bill to replace the word "religion" with "whiteness" and "the religious" with "white people" -- then asked him if objections should still be characterized as "whining" on the part of the minority...

avatarPathetic. Is this what constitutes an interview or even a discussion on fox news? O'Reilly refuses to let any point go to the stage where the discussion just turns into a tit for tat contradiction.

O'Reilly needs to watch that Monty Python sketch "The Argument Sketch"

I would love never to see Falafel Bill's name in print or his blotchy, angry visage on TV or his petulant, hate-mongering voice on radio. He is one angry dude; which is odd because he's part of the establishment - white, Christian, Anglo.

How many times has he experienced being in a position that to speak out would label him a "whiner"? And think of all those "whiners" in recent American history: Rosa Parks and MLK? Whiners. Muhammad Ali? Whiner. Those who finally took down Sen. McCarthy? Whiners. Vietnam War protesters? Whiners. Those who impeached Nixon? Whiners. Those who continue to fight for equality and civil rights? Whiners.

Roll back about 160 years, Bill O'Reilly would have been another drunken "mick" - part of an Irish invasion that wasn't warmly welcomed. When the Irish, new to America, wanted to be treated with respect, I wonder if they were called whiners. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irish_American

Bill O'Reilly is certainly a master debater. Scream, rant, tell people to "shut up", cut of mics, interrupt, threaten dissenters with Fox "security" - all tactics that prove he's an insecure, pea-brained, proto-human at best and a Ted-Haggard-lovin'-Rush-Limbaugh-worshipin'-GW-Bush-lickspittle-unthinkin'-drone-of-the-state at worst. Not much separates Bill from his media-censoring counterparts in the parts of the world, such as Iran, that keep Bill awake at night (when he's not calling female employees and sexually harassing them).

History will either forget this small, rage-monkey or he'll be remembered as leading the vanguard of everything that was wrong with America and the West in the late-20th, early 21st centuries.

Listen to Bill 3/4 the way through. Something like: "I do respect atheists ... but the whining, the incessant whining, about inclusion - it's ridiculous". Yeah, nice demonstration of respect.

Also, way to do an interview - just keep talking over her, and don't let her answer half of your questions, why don't you? These are desperate people resorting to bullying tactics and rhetoric to protect beliefs that they know must always be exposed as fallacies in the face of logic and evidence. This might be the information age, but we're still in the dark ages in the face of reason.
