avatarA very happy birthday Richard (I still find myself wanting to type "Professor Dawkins").

This site is amazing, and I say that as a user of the internet since the 80s. I have learned more here in the past year than in the previous decade of my (admittedly part-time) career in science.

My thanks to you, and best wishes to everyone involved in this site, and your campaigns for science and reason.

avatarHappy birthday, professor! And what better birthday activity than another chance to beat up on Expelled? Movies.com is the only movie website to list Expelled as an upcoming release (IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, and Box Office Mojo all fail to list it, a good indicator of just how little buzz the movie is getting outside the science/creationist blogosphere). On its listing page, they offer a reader poll asking you to anticipate how good/bad the movie will be. Everybody needs to head on over there and give it an "F: vile"! :-)

Happy birthday!

I'm from Norway, and yesterday a Norwegian televison channel had a special on a book show, about atheism. Obviously Richard was there. Loved the way you combatted the critics from our Norwegian intellectual Thomas Hylland Eriksen! Even though I generally like Hylland, his points were not the best yesterday (whenever it was recorded.) You were "unimpressed" you said, and so was I.

Anywho... Keep ut the great work! And thank you very much for this incredibly good site!

Cheers.

Many Happy Returns Richard. Have a great day.

Happy Birthday, Dr. Dawkins ...
Thank you for your books, interviews, videos, website, etc. My home is in an extremely fundamentalist city in Texas and your website is such an oasis from the pervasive chicken-fried religiosity of the area.

Happy Birthday Professor Dawkins! I mentioned this to you at your book signing in NYC, but I'll say it again: Your beautiful, eloquent writing has really sparked my interest in biology. I was always interested in the sciences, but never realized how wonderful they truly were until I read Unweaving the Rainbow. Thank you so much for all of your work.

Happy Birthday, Richard! You have it on the same day as Leonard Nemoy, Robert Frost, Alan Arkin... and my mother. :)

Happy birthday to someone whose books gave me a greater appreciation of science and a new way of looking at the world! :)

Even though I live in the United States, I think this should be a national holiday nonetheless. I'd vote for it.

Is there anything a Yank can do to nominate someone to be knighted? I'll pay back-taxes on some tea if I must.

One might think that we could keep on topic for a thread devoted to Richard Dawkins. I suspect he despairs of our lack of focus on other threads :)

That wicked Richard Morgan announced it in "The Thread That Must Not Die" (Fleabytes)...
