Yeah, he kind of came across as "Ok, we've now heard from the deluded satanist - now onto the truth!"3. Comment #28744 by Magrathean Economist on March 30, 2007 at 3:08 pm
Good program. It covered a broader spectrum of opinions than the typical ID vs. Evolution, all in a civilized exchange. Jerry Coyne was excellent. Thanks for posting the link.4. Comment #28779 by DistrictSelectman on March 30, 2007 at 6:50 pm

Why is it that some people believe that if something (a cell or an eye) is complex, then it must have been designed? Why must nature have a purpose? Just because I might build a car to get me from point A to point B doesn't mean that nature designed legs for me to do the same thing. However, having legs lets me do that.6. The arguments he put forward were rather basic - more suited for a creationist audience than an evolutionist audience.7. Comment #28848 by Duff on March 31, 2007 at 8:18 am
If I hear one more religionist claim science and religion have things to teach each other, I'm going to reach for my Browning. I'm waiting to hear one positive thing that religion has brought to science/mankind. One thing. Come on religionists, lets hear one thing.8. I'm a big fan of Steve Paikin (the TVOntario host), but I was quite disappointed with him on this show. He usually comes up with some very insightful questions that cut through whatever the guest is trying to hide behind. His usual topics are foreign affairs and local politics, so I guess science isn't his strong point. He should have at least read the Dummy's Guide to Darwin, or something, before he went on air.10. It sounded to me like Paikin was asking the strawman questions that enabled to Coyne to lay the table in favour of evolution. If he was doing this, he did it very well.11. Comment #29021 by Severus Snape on April 1, 2007 at 8:12 am

I was astounded that the creationist /scientist made the statement that eye is so complex that it had to be designed.
