avatarYes, I have played 2nd life just a little, and it was interesting and fun. But, prancing about via a virtual avatar in virtual space is not my cup tea in general; I miss the smells, touch, and the spontaneous, surprising action of real life. Anyway, I really enjoyed the photos, the teeshirts especially!

I haven't experienced it either, so I can't second the motion. I'm over 20 years old, so I guess I'm too old for this sort of thing.

Who's got the seconds for second life? I need a 2nd person so I can play 2nd life.

Too old?
http://www.secretlair.com/index.php?/clickableculture/entry/second_life_stats_expanded_early_2006/

The average age of users is 32, and the median age of users is 36.

Unless you planned on being a seller I wouldn't suggest playing this game.

avatarWhere are the middle aged, overweight, one eyed bucket-of-ugly people in this virtual world? Or do I just need to start my own account?

avatarI played Second Life all of ten minutes. Then unistalled the program as quickly as my computer could manage. I realize its a computer environment, however it seemed so superficial and phoney. I'd rather being outside enjoying a real life.

avatarOf course for the people of Second Life, there really is a creator and no evolution.

So no wonder Dawkins is in a church-looking building: he's the deluded one in this artificial world!

This would have been time better spent down the pub.

The building doesn't look much like a church at all - it just looks like ... a generic building, and the inside just looks like the inside of a small, comfortable theatre.

Anyway, my account of the experience, including a couple of pics that I took, is here:

second life isnt bad... just gets boring kind of fast. i cant wait to check his speech out though... although i will have to wait until it finds it way to youtube since i quit second life. i knew that thing would be good for something eventually. oh well.

avatar2nd life, Hmm I tried it for 2 days and got frustrated, I felt my brain was disintegrating. In those 2 days I felt it take over my life but Dawkins is very strategical in using 2nd life as an allay.....:)To get his word across.

Kindest Regards :)
