Video The Kirk Cameron Action Kit

Randy Olson and Mitch Silpa - funny or die

http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/2c14b545ba/the-kirk-cameron-action-kit

In November 2009 Kirk Cameron will be distributing altered copies of Charles Darwin's "Origin of Species" with his own preface that tries to make Darwin look like an evil crazy old man who helped the nazis take over Poland, and loved monkeys in a strange, special way. Okay, we actually don't know what is in his preface, but either way, we thought we would help Kirk Cameron and his very timely, important quest. We've made the "Kirk Cameron Action Kit". Inside you will find everything you need to fight those evil darwinists!! Just watch as Kirk Cameron's colleague Dick Tooley, leads you through the many benefits of the Kirk Cameron action kit! WOW!!!

avatarI like the blinder and ear pluggs. He missed a good joke, though. It should have been the Kirk Cameron Crocoduct Tape.

I don't know, the video just didn't hit the right chord of satire for me. It is below good satire but not bad enough as to be so bad it is good again. The satire just didn't work for me. Great editing and video production.

Okay, we actually don't know what is in his preface...
Really? 'Cause it's been available on the web for awhile now, and you could just go read it. Then maybe you could satirize it better.

avatarI agree, a crockoduck or a banana should have featured in there somewhere.
Saw Kirk on Family guy the other day, trying to get people excited about Christianity. That was funny!

 avatarOT

Does anyone use GoodSearch toolbar to search the internet? My wife told me that if I used it and designated "Richard Dawkins Foundation for Reason and Science", that they would receive a donation from GoodSearch. I checked (3rd party site) and there is no spyware or anything involved. I was just wondering why this isn't mentioned here (tax issue?), every $ helps. Here's the link:

http://www.goodsearch.com/

ON TOPIC: Didn't make me laugh either, but it might be good info for someone who comes across it and does not know the issue.

If Kirk Cameron is the biggest threat to the aethiest movement ( or however you want to label it ) or even deserving of any attention at all then you have nothing to worry about.

avatarI stumbled on a YouTube video featuring Kirk saying that he is an "ex-atheist":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKrTK_WUiCo

I had a look at the website that was plugged. Apparently, besides the adulterated version of "Origin of Species", Kirk and Ray also have some other books in the pipeline called "The Atheist Bible" and "The Charles Darwin Bible". The books have quite beautiful covers. Pity about their contents.

From comment 14 by njwong, I infer that it's
Good of this "former child star" is doing three jobs at once here, exposing;

"Substance" to religion
Consequences of a lost childhood education, presumably.
Grief for his lost fame

Seems he's behaving like an attention seeking thicko, but the structure of his video will dupe others of his ilk. Sad, really.

avatarImagine if we got a bunch of copies of the Skeptics Annotated Bible and handed it out on college campuses. There would be protests everywhere, and the people handing them out would be in physical danger. Isn't religion wonderful!

The fact that no significant disturbance let alone assault occurred at any of the book handouts of course did not faze Comfort's and Cameron's imbecile sycophants declaring (in comments at Ray's blog) that atheists (yes, all of them) had systematically planned armed attacks, electronically attacked the blog and were generally a threat to life and physical wellbeing of good people, to be thwarted only by force (at least some watercannons).
The not-so-nice practice of tearing out pages from books is to some apparently the same thing as shooting an AK-47 at Ray's head. These are the same followers of Ray who have described how they had been institutionalized and medicated in the past, served in various armed forces, and that they own guns and are proud to know how to handle them.
One of these days, we'll be reading about how some good Christian, who just happened to have posted demonizing posts against atheism on Ray's blog regularly, gunned down an unarmed group of atheists in self defense. At least that appears far more likely than someone even threatening Cameron with a toothpick.

 avatarNjwong,

One of the closing sentences of KC in the Youtube video you linked to, is:

Kirk Cameron: If there is a god, where will you spend eternity ?

Even Pascal must be turning in his grave when he hears this.

Mr Cameron,

If there is a allah, where will you spend eternity ?

If there is a brahma, where will you spend eternity ?

If there is a quetzalcoatl, where will you spend eternity ?

...

...

And then,

If there is no eternity , where will you spend it ?

avatarBut can't you see that Darwin has got Hitler's eyes- they must really be the same person!!!! Doesn't everybody know that Darwin used HG Wells' time machine to travel 60 years in the future, before donning a radical new hairsytle and moustache. He then later did a couple of silent films, and then became the founding member of the national SOCIALISTS!!! Yes like Barack Obama- A SOCIALIST!!!! Nasty, nasty Communists, Fascists, socialists and ATHEISTS!! ATHEISTS! I tell you the lot of them!

Brothers???? Pah, that's just more Evilutionist lies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next they will be saying that Hitler descended from Darwin or some such nonsense. BUT THERE ARE NO TRANSITIONAL FORMS- Show me your Darler? OR your Hitwin????
But they don't fool me- because I'm no Monkey me! I'm just off to eat an Atheists nightmare... I mean Banana sorry.
