This'll sound like jumping on wagon after the band, but I've always disliked this woman more than Beck. At least Beck's blubbering can be ammusing at times, but with her it's just offensive every time she speaks.

Oh yes, now we can't claim you're a bigot, can we? Presumably these atheists are either imaginary or self-hating.

avatarI saw this live. I watch Fox News all day and night, but the anti-atheist talk makes me ill. I wrote to fox and friends and fox news complaining. In fact, I complain every time they bash Atheism.

Malkin misses the whole point of Atheism. And, I do not believe for one minute that she has Atheist friends.

Gretchen seems so smart, but I can tell she is like most Christians, she's never read the Bible.

"Let them make fools of themselves in the public square."

Is Michelle talking about the Christians that keep trying to place delusional nativity scenes in the public squares?

"Some of my best friends are atheists."

I wonder if any of Michelle's "best friends" are black atheists.

I know the list of "things these people need explained to them" is already quite long, but near the top of it should be that any time you are attacking a group of people and you start a sentence with "Some of my best friends are..." we know that you're lying. You can't be their friend when you have such a low opinion of them, and they could not be your friend for the same reason. You have no friends that are atheists, Malkin. I promise you.

This is why I actually have more respect for people like Phelps than Malkin. If you're going to hate people, at least have the stones to be forthright about it.

avatarHaha, Atheists are trying to push Jesus to the backseat? I rarely even hear about Jesus from the CHRISTIANS celebrating Christmas.

And yes, Thou Shalt Not Steal was used to prove a point that most Christians don't follow their own beliefs. Does someone really have to spell it out for her? *facepalm*

How stupid are these people?

The vacuous blonde doesn't understand why Atheists might use one of the Commandments as an ironic commentary on a theft committed by non-atheists?e

I mean, we know Americans have got a lot of catching up to do in the understanding of irony, but sheesh...

Atheist hater and big time Christian Fox "news" fabricator Gretchin Carlson was born in Anoka, Minn. and had crazy Michele Bachman for a nanny, so she was doomed from the Jeebus get go.

She "won" Miss Minn. and Miss America titles in 1989 by playing the violin and exposing herself like a repressed pole dancer.

She studied at Oxford. WTF? How come you civilized guys across the pond couldn't straighten her out for us stoopid 'Mercuns?

How has 'thou shall not steal' become a christian virtue all of a sudden, which should not be 'copied' by non-believers? Fox, take a look at the nativity story which is highly plagiarised from pagan and pre-christian religion.

Bigotry, hypocrisy, blindness to the mirror, and most 'offensive' of all: no understanding of irony!

I'm pretty sure she is outright lying about the Rudolf story (of course since its a personal anecdote no-one can disprove it).

I'm not surprised a lot of ignorant but essentially nice people have such a dim view of atheists if this is the propaganda they are fed, although I'd have thought it should be pretty transparent.

Atheists aren't generally a considered demographic especially for Fox news so they don't care one bit. The gay bashing stopped on Fox because of the activists. We just need activists too unfortunately since in American the loudest get their way.

This attack on atheists is right out of the 50s.

All they needed was Chuck Norris repeating his "If I was president I would tattoo a "Mercun" flag on the forhead of every atheist in 'Merca."

They forgot to call us a "bunch a commies".

Joe McCarthy is rolling over in his grave.

avatarCould you imagine if, instead of Atheists, they were talking about any other group of people or a religious group? ____ doesn't want Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer in schools. _____ doesn't like the nativity scene. ____ need to just shut up and let us be.

Insert another group of people besides Atheists. Would they still say that?

I don't know any Atheists that have a problem with Rudolph, anyway, though I'm sure they exist somewhere. The only people I've ever actually heard complaining about Rudolph and Frosty were Christians saying that it's taking away from the true meaning of Christmas.

"Fair and balanced". HA HA HA HA HA HA

First of all, "thou shall not steal" is indicating that these people who did this - they most likely to be religious - are not following their own beliefs, despite the fact that their faith tells them not to do that. So it is an indication to the idea that even though they have " thou shall not steal" they are not following it.
Second "making fun of them is the second best solution", does she know that in her book it says that the idiot said in his heart there is no god. Talk about making fun of them!!!
They weren't insulting anybody - the atheist wing- they were showing them their - the religious people's - problem or fallacy .

Ug returned to the cave in time to see Oog dragging his mate away.

Ug then lobbied Chief Splooge to have "NO STEAL MATES OR OTHER STUFF" painted on the cave wall the next day.

Many, many years later it was plagarized into the buybull without permission.

At the time, Chief Splooge's offspring were really pissed and threatened to sue.

avatarI saw this some time ago. Anyhow, I actually "read" Malkin's blog and comment regularly. I am the token "annoying atheist."

Some on this board will know that my politics are "Hitchensesque." Malkin used to have a winner every so often, she occasionally does stick it to the most extreme "multi-culturists" (the same kind of folks that Pat Condell railed against recently) and the "far-left" (forgive me for the use of that generalization and I hope no one gets upset by it). Those kinds of posts are fewer and fewer these days, however.

Anyhow, that's an aside, what I really wanted to say is that, ironically, she actually employs an atheist:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allahpundit

Allahpundit (born c. 1975) is an anonymous blogger, and the lead reporter for the blog "Hot Air", owned by conservative commentator and author Michelle Malkin. His co-blogger on Hot Air is Ed Morrissey, former proprietor of the Captain's Quarters blog. [1]
AllahPundit's prominence on Hot Air is a contentious issue for some of the site's most conservative readers, as AllahPundit is often criticized for his atheism and for his frequent criticisms of (and snark toward) Governor Sarah Palin. AllahP is also known for his frequent posts on pop-culture and his self-deprecating humor (he often refers to himself, for example, as a "beta male").
I really think her comments in this video amount to towing the party-line, rather cowardly as well.

Can I resign from the Woman's Club until Carlson and Malkin stop bleating and clucking over non-issues? If they want to join a group that actively discriminates against their sex (*cough*Christianity*cough*), I'm not stopping them.

And seriously, Michelle, how stupid do you think we are? Since your list of BFFs already contains an invisible sky man I'm somewhat skeptical of finding the addresses of these atheist you claim are on it.

avatarThis is of course absolutely appalling, especially on the mainstream US television. It's shocking how they refering to one (presumably atheist one) organization that placed that sign as it was done and approved by all those atheists (who hate Christmas, obviously). And theft of the personal property is pretty much OK when it's an atheist sign.

Btw, I think that US atheist organizations who are upset with Christmas just shooting themselves in the foot. I can't think of anything that can alienate more people than this.

How was the blond anchor allowed to get away with such bias on a "news" program?

(I hope this is true.) If she was a BBC anchor she would have been sacked.

Anyway. A godbotherer stole the sign in order to shut us up. It then got splattered all across the godbotherer news. Goal!!!!

The godbotherers then consider if "ignoring the atheists" is a good tactic or air. Another goal!!!!!

avatarI like this clip - it reveals so much.
Malkin opines, 'let's just ignore these atheists and their tantrums'. Yeah, putting up a small sign is a tantrum.
Gretchen responds: the atheists might gain control and Christianity might disappear if we 'let them do that; we need to stand up and fight'. 'You might joke, but this is serious business'. 'Atheists using the Ten Commandments to make a point is a complete insult'.

I gather that bimbo Gretchen fancies herself a Spiritual WarriorTM. I think we've already won when merely putting up a sign triggers criminal behavior and suggestions of ending free speech from the opposition. They're whiny, desperate, intensely fearful and support the law and the Constitution just as long as it benefits them. So much exposure of character in such a short clip. Delicious.

oh, and Polaris29, the atheists over there aren't hating on Christmas (you're buying the theofascist propaganda if you believe that). The sign was put up specifically to counter a display of a nativity scene in a government building. The atheists were allowed to do that because a denial of that right would have meant a blatant violation of the establishment clause.

Isn't it funny how Malkin recaps her memory of six years of 'War on Christmas', to conclude that atheists stating their opinion are just trolls? I remember well how Bill O'Reilly (I think it was him who coined the War phrase) threw a tantrum, multiple tantrums, every year. Malkin reveals just how confused, inconsistent and self-defeating the theofascist propaganda machine operates. Their problem is that they have to constantly make stuff up from thin air to keep it running, and when one of their figureheads isn't informed of what another made up this week, they get caught in contradictions.

edit: now seeing that this was a clip I must have seen last year already, it's almost even funnier. This year, we've seen a lot of developments on the 'war front': bus campaigns, billboards, Ken Ham and Pat Robertson both admitting defeat, all accompanied by a cacophony of protests and serious threats by good Christians. I wonder what Gretchen thinks today, her side having conducted one strategic retreat after the other all year, only getting in small occasional victories like Obama's support of faith-based initiatives. Still no scientific research publicized by the ID camp, still no science from the creation science crowd. A few religiously insane guys running amok, no atheists cutting off anyone's head.

A sad year for the godbots.
