Should Richard Dawkins be Arrested for Covering Up Atheist Crimes?

Original link

For many years now Richard Dawkins has been working like a demon, you might say, to discredit all belief in God. He has now said that he wants to have the Pope arrested when he comes to Britain for later this year for covering up "crimes against humanity".

As a lapsed atheist, I have the greatest respect for those who do not think that there is anything beyond the material in this universe. Many friends and family feel that way: they are staying true to the best truth available to them. Yet most remain open to new possibilities and acknowledge that they are not entirely omniscient. Most too are respectful to those who think differently to themselves.

Dawkins, however, has nothing but contempt for the majority of human kind who believe in God; but more than this, he no longer appears to be a seeker after truth: he now seems to be someone who just hates and seeks to destroy Judaeo-Christian moral principles.

Dawkins has many times tried to say that Einstein did not believe in God. Yet Einstein said this:

"My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble mind."

HuffPo cements its reputation as the liberal site for credulous idjits

The Huffington Post now has a post up from some guy named Rory Fitzgerald reacting to the suggestion that the Pope be arrested for crimes and conspiracies of his organization by urging that Richard Dawkins be arrested for "atheist crimes"…such as those committed by the Nazis and Stalinists. I had no idea that Adolf Hitler was a member of the Richard Dawkins Foundation! You learn something new every day.

But, you know, he's right. If RDF staffers were running a child-porn ring, and Dawkins was moaning "Oh, this will ruin the reputation of my foundation, I must do what I can to hide these crimes," then yes, I would agree: arrest Richard Dawkins! No excuses!

HuffPo: arrest Richard Dawkins

Rory Fitzgerald’s latest rant piece at The Huffington Post is called “Richard Dawkins should be arrested for covering up atheist crimes.” It is, of course, a response to Dawkins’s and Hitchens’s call for legal action against the Pope if His Holiness sets foot in the UK. Fitzgerald, an Irish journalist, calls himself a “lapsed atheist.”

The piece is completely devoid of intellectual merit, but is worth looking at for a few reasons:

He doesn’t know who Richard Dawkins is. Until yesterday, Fitzgerald’s column identified Dawkins (twice) as a “microbiologist.”
