Next week the House of Commons will be debating House of Lords reform and we need as many people as possible to let their MPs know their views on the place of Bishops in the reformed chamber.
The Government proposes to retain the right of Bishops to sit in parliament and even to give the Church new powers to decide precisely which Bishops will represent them. The BHA and our supporters in Parliament will be arguing that the right of Bishops to sit in the Lords must be removed.
Write to your MP today and encourage them to support all initiatives to remove the right of Bishops to sit in the reformed chamber, including voting for any amendments to secure their removal and by adding their name to EDM 998
You can see a BHA briefing on all the arguments for removal of the Bishops at http://tinyurl.com/263pu6
Alternatively, you can email your MP directly with a pro forma email written by the BHA (which you can also edit) at http://tinyurl.com/2e6y6b
Please pass this email on to friends and colleagues — we need as many people as possible to write to their MPs to make the level of support for removing Bishops clear.

Whatever else the Bible might be – and it really is a great work of literature – it is not a moral book and young people need to learn that important fact because they are very frequently told the opposite.
