Many happy returns of this day. We need many of you in this world.

3. A. Kendall LeBlanc: Happy Birthday from North Port, Florica, USA

Dear Sir,

Thank you so much for being who you are and doing what you do. I have often said that I feel like I'm living in an insane asylum. People like you reassure me that it is the majority of my country is in fact insane and that you and I and the rest of our kind are the sane ones.

I am a retired biology teacher who has for the majority of my life had to be rather discreet about my real opinions about the relative virtues of science and religion and other superstitions. The pressures to conform to the "judeo-christian" mythologies are not superficially obvious but very definitely there and potentially capable of career destruction. They wouldn't dismiss one for being an atheist; it would be for something else.

I am currently reading "The Ancestor's Tail" and "The Selfish Gene" and will start on "The God Delusion" next. I plan to read all of the rest of your books as soon as I can without causing the collapse of the rest of my life.

I celebrate the anniversary of your birth and wish you all the best in your private and personal lives.

Sincerely,
A. Kendall LeBlanc
North Port, Florida, USA

4. A. Venesky: Happy Birthday from NYC US

Happy birthday to you, Professor Dawkins, from New York City. Thank you for your work and your most recent book, especially. I was already an atheist, (since I was about 20 (while at the Univ of Notre Dame) but this book has made me even more conscious, informed and probing about why exactly I am an atheist.

I want to share a recent experience in which my raised consciousness (I've been an atheist changed how I responded to a religious person. I was recently looking for an apartment in NYC, with an Orthodox Jewish broker. I noticed he shook my boyfriend's hand but not mine. I didn't know why, so I offered a polite handshake as we left after viewing the apartment. The man told me he couldn't shake my, a woman's, hand due to his religion. I was offended, as was my boyfriend. But then there's always the countervailing pressure of the NYC rental market! So we didn't say anything at the time, but I thought about it, and called the guy back and explained we were not going to give our money to someone who is sexist, and that religion gave no reasonable cover to his bigotry. (The man also -- I noticed earlier told me I needed to bring at least one roommate to the viewing, while my boyfriend, having to reschedule for me, was not told he needed someone with him.)

I don't believe there are rights protections here for this sort of matter, but I don't believe I was fairly dealt with in business -- by the visible symbol of "good faith" in business. But I feel I did the right thing that maybe I would not have done a year ago.

Which brings me to one point I would like to raise with you, and maybe you can take it as a birthday gift. There is another very excellent reason to oppose religious indoctrination, which I have been dismayed to see you pretty much gloss over: The three main monotheist religions have perpetuated the dehumanization and enslavement of women, (as well as misogynist mindsets in the West). While you ironically use a berka as a metaphor in one of your last chapters, I don't recall any hard figures, or any prolonged discussion of this in your recent work. You do base the occasion for the book's writing on global instability instigated by mainly Islamic religious fundamentalism (without mentioning America's history of aggression in the Mid East, among other elephants in the room.)

I do hope that you do not forget the day to day direct victims -- prisoners-- of religious fundamentalists -- women, who themselves must be horribly psychologically scarred by a culture of self-hate. They too provide a very important occasion to raise consciousness about the nefariousness of the big three religions, at the very least. It is also ironic, given your emphasis on "feminist consciousness raising" in the 1970s.

I wish that you would raise this point when arguing why it is now so important to deal with religion honestly and bluntly.

So happy birthday and thanks again for your wonderful work.

Annie Venesky

5. A. Voulon-Jonker: Happy Birthday from Deventer. the Netherlands

Dear Mr. Dawkins, from the city, where the great european Desiderius Erasmus went to school I am wishing you a very good birthday in the spirit of ongoing discoveries in science and with the hope that all people keep in mind these words of Erasmus: Amidst weapons the law is silent. (he loved the weapon of the pen, though). My adult children and I remember your Christmas lectures so many years ago and we were very jealous of the people actually sitting in the audience! Again, happy birthday. A. Voulon-Jonker.

6. Aarmin Banaji: Happy Birthday from Nagpur, India

Wish you the best always. May your tribe increase. Sorely needed in this world filled with irrational beliefs.

7. Aaron: Happy Birthday

Hello Richard, or should i say the person who opened my eyes after reading the epic God Delusion.

Many happy returns on your birthday.

Thank you for you!!

Aaron Griffiths,a fan of yours

8. Aaron Arnold: Happy Birthday from Illinois, USA

Enjoy to the fullest, for you've certainly earned it. Thanks a million for your tireless work and leadership.

9. Aaron Baker: Happy Birthday from United States

Happy Birthday, Professor.

I enjoyed The God Delusion, though I believe your attack on Aquinas' Fifth Way was really an attack on Paley (these two versions of the teleological argument are quite different). Minor blemishes aside, I think your book is admirable, and an important evidence of what I hope is a new assertiveness and self-confidence on the part of unbelief. We need a lot more people like you in the States.

10. Aaron Chioino: Happy Birthday from Fairfax, CA

Keep up the good work!
Best wishes on your B-Day!

Yours Truly,
Aaron

11. aaron gabriel: Happy Birthday from sacramento california

richard, you will be remembered forever, its ironic that you found eternal life by dismantling it, but life is full of irony.

i will teach anyone i come to be friends with about you, i have two of your books and seen 90% of your videos online. MUCH RESPECT TILL THE DAY I DIE.

aaron michael gabriel

yeah thats 100% christian name, i was forced into religion for the first 15 years of my life, only to grow up and study anthropology and "FORCE!" it on my family!!! "well not force but tell them its important to me that they are educated on the topic that they told me to stay away from" :)

12. Aaron Halfaker: Happy Birthday from Minnesota, USA

I hope your birthday was great. Thanks for your hard work and your wonderful writing.

13. Aaron Heiss: Happy Birthday from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

I have not met you. I have not read enough (which is to say, all) of your books, or seen or heard many of your media appearances. I cannot say that I know you, and yet I feel confident in placing myself in your virtual company, in identifying myself with everything that you stand for.

There is no god to bless us. Humanity blesses itself with our own actions, and you have distributed more than your share of blessings upon us. May you continue to bless us for many years to come!

Aaron

14. Aaron Rosenberg: Happy Birthday from Eugene, OR

16. Aaron Urbanski: Happy Birthday from Bowling Green, Ohio

Happy Birthday Dr. Dawkins! Your books and lectures on science and evolution have astounded and enlightened me about the details of evolutionary theory. I wish you all the best in your future.

17. Aaron Young: Happy Birthday from Jacksonville, FL

Hello Dr. Dawkins,

It is really great that I am able to write a message you will read and be pleased with. I first would like to give thanks and enjoy in celebration, of yet another year of your existance. My name is Aaron Young, I am 22 years of age, male, and have grown up so confused through my youngest years. I have heard just recently of your work and your books. I have been on YouTube watching your lectures. I am very excited to have read The God Delusion, the first book i have read of yours. I do plan on reading all of your books as soon as possible. I love your messages you send out to people. The ones in The God Delusion stuck me with irony. It was as if I was thinking while you worded the same thoughts i was having into a magnificent, compelling book. All my life I have been a silent atheist, but would never come out and shout it, respectfully. Somehow I feel as if I have always known the truth that you have placed infront of many, instictively to say the least. I think you need to know that you have helped me take my first step into a larger world. I am no longer confused! I can not thank you enough. I now am full of love, all my anxiety problems no longer exist, I feel free to speak my mind and be proud to be "labeled" an Atheist, and I have decided to point my life in a new, wonderful direction. Im going back to college with a drive and thirst for knowledge, love, action, and truth. You are and inspiration to many, and I proudly add myself to that list. Thank you so much Richard Dawkins. You have inspired me. Happy Birthday!

23. Abiu Benavides: Happy Birthday from Laredo, Texas

Happy Birthday Mr. Dawkins!!!

I wish you the best in this day and in all the ones that follow. I know that you will be showered with the love of your family, friends, and all those who surround you. You are a truly brilliant and brave person who fights justly for the value of truth in life. Although you may piss-off a great number of people, you drive the confidence and strength of many who feel overwhelmed by the masses.

As a message of peace, trust, and hope in these times of worldwide trouble, I send you a phrase that I really love. It is a simple but brilliant statement quoted from a Mexican president of the 1800's named Benito Juarez. I use it as an alternative I offer people to the ten commandments when they try to force their supposed value on me.

"Entre los individuos, como entre las naciones, el respeto al derecho ajeno es la paz."

which translates to

"Among individuals, as among nations, respect for the rights of others is peace."

I realize that life is simple and beautiful and have come to the idea that the meaning of life is not complex. It is simply, "Live." Here deep in the Bible Belt of Texas it is very difficult to be an atheist and education is very much discouraged. I have never been convinced of the "truth" of religion and have loved all sciences since childhood. When I fully became a true and full atheist I felt such a freedom and have been always outspoken and not afraid of what others argue blindly. But then I started feeling seriously outcast and alone after all the constant insults from the superstitious multitudes and closed-minded individuals. I then began researching all kinds of topics and came across your name and those of other great people who follow the same steps and I was able to fully gain my personal strength. And for this, I thank you deeply.

Next year I hope to send you a better gift, but for now I offer my full help and support. Should you ever need assistance with the distribution of media around this area or any other task, I make my self available. I hope that you like this message.

Sincerest thanks,
Abiu Benavides

---------------------------------------------------------------------
PS - VERY IMPORTANT REQUEST - Please help many of us with A gift that will be very valued. I was wondering if you will offer for sale or download the following videos: Waking Up In the Universe, Blind Watchmaker, and Climbing Mount Improbable. Also, the BBC does not want to offer Jonathan Miller's BRIEF HISTORY OF DISBELIEF and THE ATHEISM TAPES. If the BBC does not want to spend to publish a DVD, it should be available for download the like the Beyond Belief' 2006 videos, so we can share all these important pieces of work with others.

A Legend, Truly! Having read your book I now have the ammunition to fully back my athiest stance. All the best for the future and a very happy birthday to you!

Thanks Mr Dawkins!

25. Adam: Happy Birthday from PA

28. Adam Dinan: Happy Birthday from Cork, Ireland

Richard,

Thank you so much for everything. For being the public face of atheists everywhere. For fighting the good fight - for reason, for science. The world needs more men like you, especially given the current circumstances in so many countries (amongst them, rather conspicuously, The US) in which religious absolutism rules with an iron fist. It is crucial that the cultural taboo which surrounds atheism be eradicated once and for all.

Here in Ireland, I feel that positive strides have been taken. The Catholic Church is on its knees. Mass attendances are at an all time low, young priests are few and far between. I am glad to state, as an 18-year-old atheist, that I have never faced any prejudice or serious ill-will as a result of my non-belief. Yet, circumstances would probably have been entirely different only a couple of decades ago - and I put the change down to men like you. Men with courage, who will stand up for what they believe in. You are an inspiration, Richard.

You may, very often, be frustrated when faced with the ignorance of which religion is such a superlative font. That, for a man of your intellect, would merely be natural. Yet you have not, and must not, falter. Take comfort in the knowledge that so many of us treasure your input. You are a man of science, and that, in my humble opinion, is the most honorable trait one can have.

Adam Dinan,
Cork,
Ireland

Happy Birthday Richard! Thank you for enlightening and inspiring us for so many years! Keep it up!

35. Adam Wander: Happy Birthday from San Diego

Happy Birthday Mr. Dawkins!

Although, I must admit, I thought today celebrated the day you rose from the dead - I always get my holidays confused.

36. Adela Torres: Happy Birthday from Spain

A very happy birthday to you, Professor! Your writings have always stimulated, exhilarated, and illuminated me. You transmit and enjoy the wonder of science beautifully, and I wish I could give you a gift worthy of the what you give us every day you write. But I can't, except by telling you that, thanks to your work, I'm now richer.

Nevertheless, if at any time you need something from Spain, just ask.

Many hugs,

Adela

37. Adrian Allen: Happy Birthday from God-forsaken Norfolk, UK

Many happy returns, sir.

I am not far behind you in age nor, judging from your enlightening words in your recent book, in aspiration.

I think the best thing I can say is, 'do not be diverted or diluted in your drive to rationalise this world and rid us of religion.'

Having shaken off any theistic tendencies before I was ten (1955), despite having an older brother who became a 'Witness', I agree with everything you have said on the subject.

38. Adrian Avarvarei: Happy Birthday from Romania

Happy Birthday, Mr. Dawkins!
You are an inspiration for me and many bright people from my generation. Keep up the good work, you are making a difference and we appreciate you!

Happy birthday Richard, and have a nice day!

41. Adrian Morris: Happy Birthday from London

Hi Richard,

Just a quick note to wish you many happy returns and to thank you for your all your efforts. Not only do you bring a better understanding of how we see the world but your fight against unjustified and dangerous dogmatism can hopefully be a catalyst to removing the many institutions which promote illogical 'faith' and intolerance around the world. Thank you once again.

42. Adrien Aaron: Happy Birthday

Richard, your work is high caliber and I'm very glad that you're such an enthusiastic supporter of the lack of evidence for theism. It's people like you who inspire me to take action on my controversial beliefs. Happy birthday, and I hope your next year is a very fulfilling and enjoyable one!

43. Adrienne Critcher: Happy Birthday from Shreveport, LA

Happy Birthday!

Thank you for having the courage to challenge people's sacred delusions. Your courage has given me and my husband the courage to share our naturalistic worldview with others when the subject of religion comes up. We are also gay rights activists here in conservative northwest Louisiana--but that's actually easier than challenging religious faith!!

Have a great birthday,
Adrienne Critcher

44. Aerik Knapp-Loomis: Happy Birthday from Shawnee Mission, Kansas

Happy Birthday, Richard Dawkins!

Here's my present to you. I first started getting into serious skepticism when I first discovered podcasting less than two years ago with the Skepticality podcast. They interviewed the likes of Phil Plait, James Randi, and Michael Shermer. I started to read Michael Shermer (having already read Phil Plait's Bad Astronomy book), and he referenced you for myths on evolution several times. So after reading every book he had published up to date, I picked up the Blind Watchmaker, the Selfish Gene, and UnWeaving the Rainbow, and finished them within a week.

My present to you is to inform you of this fact: I came to admire you as a scientist before I was even aware of your spectacularly righteous and developed views on religion and atheism. Yes, Richard, you can rest easy knowing that your atheism does not necessarily preclude your excellency as a scientist.

A well deserved pat on the back, many presents, and hopefully your favorite kind of dessert and birthday candles, all these I wish for you on this latest celebration of your birth.

Kudos.
Aerik Knapp-Loomis

45. Aero Zephr: Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday, im currently reading your latest book, the God Delusion and it is defintatly helping in my discussions with the evangelicals I encounter on the internet. After getting through their constant denial of evolution, quotes from answers in genesis and many other creationist sites, I seemed to come across the relevant arguements each time I turned a page.

-Aero

46. Aficionado: Happy Birthday from Vancouver Canada

The three Musketeers of truth, reason and rationality have changed my life for the better.

Richard, you are one of them! Happy birthday.

The other two are Sam and Daniel. Too bad Dartagnon (Carl Sagan) is not with us anymore!

47. Agnieszka Zubek: Happy Birthday from Canada

Happy Birthday Mr Dawkins!

We wish you a very happy birthday with your friends and family and we hope that the the knowledge that your work has served to inform and enchant us will bring you some additional pleasure on this day!

Annie & Laurie (raised as an atheist)

48. Ahmed: Happy Birthday from Egypt

I am Ahmed from Egypt ,
I was introduced to Prof. Dawkins about 5 years ago when i stumbled upon one of the greatest contributions to both science and philosophy "The Blind Watchmaker , which is one of the very few books from Dwkins translated into arabic along with the Devil's Chaplain". Since then I have been tracing Prof Dawkins' works wherever possible esp on the internet like Edge magazine , infidels.org .

One misfortune is that Books from Dawkins are hardly found found in the egyptian book stores with notable excpetions !

Richard Dawkins is certainly one of my greatest profound infleunces .
He is the blessed precious misfiring of natural selection :)...Splendid Conciousness !

Happy Birthday Prof Dawkins . Pls keep raising our consciousness .

49. Ahmed Bilal: Happy Birthday from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

Dear Prof.Dawkins,

You often say in your writings about the privilege of living after Newton, Darwin etc. Allow me to say that I feel privileged to be living
coevally with Prof.Richard Dawkins. Wishing you another 66 years of healthy & happy life. Happy Birthday.

-Ahmed Bilal

50. ajji: Happy Birthday from Washington, DC

52. Al Batista: Happy Birthday from New York City

Happy Birthday, Richard. I would like to add one more well wish from thousands of well wishes you will receive, from strange people that you do not know.

Thank you for everything that you and Sam have done to bring your views on religion to the masses. It seems, if only for now, that they are listening.

It takes time for reason to sink in. Thank you for being patient with them.

Again, Happy Birthday and thanks for taking the hits for our beliefs.

53. Al Bloom: Happy Birthday from London

Happy Birthday Richard! Keep up the criticsm on this mass insanity known as religion!

Dear Dr. Dawkins,

Happy Birthday, and thank you.

Al Scovern,Ph.D.
Clinical Psychologist

57. Al Shears: Happy Birthday from Sedona, AZ

Wishing you all the best on your Birthday, Richard. I want to thank you for sharing with me and so many others your wisdom and your clarity on such important subjects as are discussed in your great book The God Delusion. What a great thing it is that reason is finding its way in this world where superstition has abounded for so long. Let's all grow up now and see the way it really is in the world when faced with the obvious facts. I seriously doubt that a creator concerned himself very mightily with this truly minute speck of space dust we call Earth. Amazing more people don't see that.

58. alan: Happy Birthday from Belfast

Your book, the god delusion changed my life, excue the horrendous cliche, though after digesting it i wasn't afraid any more to voice my opinons to family and friends, it gave me the intellectual high ground in any of their faith based arguements, you gave me the reason to be proud to be an atheist. Thank you..

Now, I find you we share the same birthday!! 26/03.. 1976 in my case.. I can't thank you enough, you gave me the balls to be shrug off my passed down yokes and have faith in myself. I can't thank you enough. Mount improbable was too much of a big step for them I guess, the walk up the other side was much easier for me... Thanks for the map.

59. Alan: Happy Birthday from Corona, California

Happy Birthday Dr. Dawkins!

You have been a great inpiration for me ever since I read Behe's Darwin's Black Box. You hhave been a great source of support for me on my own journey away from the constraints of religious dogma and toward my quest for unimpeded knowledge.

Alan Wager

60. Alan: Happy Birthday from Peterborough, UK

Many happy returns Richard.
God's speed.
Alan & family

61. Alan Baxter: Happy Birthday from Sydney, Australia

Right or wrong, you're an important man, Mr Dawkins. Keep up the good work and Happy Birthday!

62. Alan Broomhead: Happy Birthday from Canton, MA

Dear Professor Dawkins,

Thank you so much for bringing incisive thinking, good sense, and compassion to a world lacking all of these.

I have just discovered that we share a birthday. Happy Birthday to us, then.

With warm wishes,

Alan Broomhead

63. Alan Bruce: Happy Birthday from Wollongbar NSW Australia

Happy Birthday Richard! I have no gift for you as you would expect none. However I can only provide you with deep felt thanks for providing me with the gift to finally (I am 52) break all the emotional chains with my earlier religious indoctrination. Although an avowed atheist for many years now, snippets of guilt occasionally snapped at me & false politeness brought about by years of conditioning & societal expectations for religious people and figures. You have, in your writings finally awaken in me the need to challenge & poo poo all such religosity wherever I may encounter it. In a sense you have unleashed in me the confidence to openly express my views and challenge the great religious frauds that permeate our society & inhibit our ability to truly live.

So for your birthday I hope you continue to rejoice in your intellectual freedom & your insatiable desire to waken the good thinking of this world from their induced & clouded slumber!

Thanks & the very best of good wishes to you.

Alan Bruce

64. alan bulmer: Happy Birthday from newcastle

I would like to thank you for all the knowledge I have filled my brain cells with by reading your books.I have always believed that knowledge should come before dogma and blind faith and you have armed me with information so I can have a good discussion with friends and colleagues when religion enters the conversation.Even my Granddaughter who attends a catholic school argues with her RI teachers! Thanks once again and have a pleasant birthday.
alan bulmer

65. Alan Charles: Happy Birthday from London

Happy Birthday Richard!

66. Alan Clark: Happy Birthday from Liverpool

Happy Birthday Professor!

from Alan Clark in Liverpool

sistine chapel

67. Alan Couch: Happy Birthday from Canberra

Thanks for bringing to the mainstream conversation the hitherto unbroachable subject. So many of us have wanted to help others understand the beauty of nature and science - but until your work bought us the clear arguments, the beautiful examples, the appropriate ripostes for those who insist on some mystical explanation for everything, and most of all, the permission to discuss it - we were reticent. Like you I hope that changes.

Happy birthday.

68. Alan E. Smith: Happy Birthday from Des Moines, Iowa

Thanks so much for sharing your perspective. It is like fresh air blowing away the dust and cobwebs from a moldy old book in the basement. Turns out we can write our own scripture if we want, or ignore it completely. What a treat. Ta Mate

69. Alan Lewis: Happy Birthday from Bangkok Thailand

I would like to wish Richard Dawkins a very happy birthday and may he have many more such birthdays. I am now retired and living in Bangkok and only recently bought his book The God Delusion and through that the books of Sam Harris. I have since bought the Selfish Gene and currently have another of his titles on order. Once I have got through those I will buy his other books. I have watched his presentations and listened to him debating and between him and Sam Harris they have made things very clear to me.I normally give my books away to the British Council when I have finished reading them but in his case I keep them on my coffee table so that I can re-read them and also show them to any visitors I have. I am sure I would run out of adjectives trying to describe the man. Long may he keep up the good work and once again I can only wish him all the best for his birthday I just wish he had been a teacher when I was in school.

With sincerest best wishes
Alan Lewis

70. Alan Lyne: Happy Birthday from Carlisle, Cumbria, UK

Dear RD-

I recently heard you referred to on a BBC Radio 4 programme as (quote) having the evangelistic fervour of a born again atheist! Please accept sincere birthday wishes from one of your converts.

Many Happy Returns of the Day-
AL

71. Alan Matthews: Happy Birthday from NZ at present

Many more happy birthdays, Alan Matthews

72. Alan Meyer: Happy Birthday from California

Happy Birthday Richard. Your writings and interviews have been inspirational (in a good sense)to me and have been immensely helpful in my sorting and rethinking process. I'm looking forward to meeting you in person in the Galapagos this Spring.

73. Alan Miller: Happy Birthday from Norfolk, UK

To the tune of Tom Lehrer's "Oedipus Rex"

You once taught a girl called Tuppence Stone,
An ex-girlfriend, but now I'm not alone.
It's a link to you I share with Douglas A.
We're all now celebrating your birth DAY.

Terrible… I apologise… My God (!) that was awful. Poetry in rigor mortis.

Richard, I'm not a poet but Tuppence and I are still friends, Douglas Adams' communication with me regarding a film I edited (Garamba on the elephants of Zaďre) referenced in "Last Chance To See", still makes me smile. Above all, your work to rid this planet of the most heinous belief systems is inspiring. I have already written to Jonathan Miller pledging my support to promote his 'Brief History of Disbelief', an offer he gratefully acknowledged. Just keep doing what you are doing and while walking in the Middle East, keep your head down…

All respect to you and wonder at the reality of the 'verse.

Happy Birthday. Keep up the good work!

75. Alan Pires Ferreira: Happy Birthday from Belo Horizonte, Brazil

Thank you for your company. I am always carrying one of your books with me, and you are always there to enlighten me with a witty remark, a funny joke, an inspiring new idea. You are a very good friend, and I am always discussing your opinions with my "regular friends". You don't even know, but you are part of our gang. It is delightful to share your company. Happy Birthday!

76. Alan Plum: Happy Birthday from Cologne, Germany

Happy Birthday!

I've enjoyed reading your books and listening to your lectures on YouTube. You showed me that atheism is not as depressing a world view as it is often thought of, but in fact more cheerful and fascinating than any religion can be.

I wish you to remain as successful and inspiring as you have been so far and don't let the religious fanatics bother you too much.

Rock on,
Alan Plum

77. Alan Wardroper: Happy Birthday from Victoria, Canada

Happy birthday Richard Dawkins--an education and an inspiration.
It was only on a recent re-reading of the 30th anniversary edition of The Selfish Gene I realised what an important contribution RD has made to our (and my) way of seeing the world.
Keep up the good work, and many happy returns.

81. Alasdair Brown: Happy Birthday from Houston TX USA

Professor Dawkins

On the occasion of your birthday, I just want to say thank you for being such a voice of reason in this world and speaking up for those of us whose voices are swamped by the tide of superstition that threatens the very existence of our society.

As an atheist Brit in the bible belt of the US, I value your incisive and cogent writings which provide an island of sanity to me and many others I am sure.

Happy Birthday

Regards
Dr Alasdair S Brown

85. Albert Duenas: Happy Birthday from Los Angeles

Mr. Dawkins,

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path."

Seriously though, thank you so much for "The God Delusion" and all the work you are doing for humanity. As one who was indoctrinated into the Evangelical Christian community from childhood, I know first-hand the damage that can result from religion. Your book has been an inspiration to me on so many different levels, that, even though I had already left the flock, I can honestly say it has had a major impact on my life. You, sir, are one of my heroes and one day should like to shake your hand. Happy Birthday!

Best wishes,
Albert Duenas

86. Albert Sayers: Happy Birthday from Pound Ridge NY

A year ago I did not who you were until I found a book called The Selfish Gene. I have been an avid reader of your books ever since.

Be well and please write more books.

Al Sayers

87. Alberto Forero: Happy Birthday from San Francisco

Happy Birthday Mr. Dawkins!
Thank you for all the consciousness-raising you have done. Reading your work, I felt that you brilliantly exposed the unnoticed elephant in our collective living room, and then showed the connection between that elephant and all the broken furniture!

88. Alejandro Salah: Happy Birthday from New York, USA

Thanks for open other's minds to science and knowledge!

89. Alessandro: Happy Birthday from Italy

Happy Birthday Dr. Dawkins! I wish you a good party....

With my best regards,

90. Alex: Happy Birthday from Leeds, UK

Happy birthday Mr Dawkins. Thank you kindly for having re-introduced rational thought to many people, and for having clarified the Darwinian theory of evolution, in all your brilliant works. And as a student at Leeds university, let me thank you for forcing Andrew McIntosh on various important issues. The Christian Union, and indeed, the Jewish and Islamic societies, are all fairly vociferous, and were it not for your efforts, and the efforts of others, I would feel somewhat in a minority, which I am sure is not the current reality of the situation of atheism in the UK.
In any case, I wish you a happy day, and many more to come after that.

91. Alex: Happy Birthday from Bowling Green, Kentucky, USA

Happy Birthday, Richard! Thank you for remaining a strong advocate of good science. We need more people who are not afraid to tell people that some beliefs simply have no basis. Good luck to you!

92. Alex: Happy Birthday from Oakland, CA

93. Alex: Happy Birthday from San Francisco

Mr. Dawkins:

I send you many birthay wishes from california. Your tireless efforts to communicate reason over blind faith is a loud trumpet sounding for my generation (Gen X.) We are at the point in our lives where we find ourselves in leadership position throughout various industries. we are positioned to champion reason, while shaping our world through our professional efforts. Your public thoughts regarding this topic help to penetrate the mainstream, perhps effecting the lives of many, like myself, who stand at the door of cultural change. I wish you a very happy 21st birthday! I know, I know.

Respectfully, Alex

99. alex mcalery: Happy Birthday from south africa

HOWZIT RICHARD,

MANY MANY HAPPY RETURNS AND KEEP UP THE GOOD FIGHT.

IT MUST SEEM A CONSTANT UPHILL BATTLE DEALING WITH SUCH INGRAINED SUPERSTITION AND IGNORANCE IN OUR WORLD. HOWEVER, EVERY PERSON (LIKE ME) WHOM YOU HAVE INDIRECTLY ASSISTED IN BREAKING THIS PERNICIOUS SPELL, IS ONE SMALL VICTORY FOR REASON AND TOLERANCE.

HOPEFULLY ONE DAY WE WILL SIMPLY OVERWHELM THE FORCES OF IGNORANCE,INTOLERANCE AND UNRELENTING DOGMA BY THE SHEER WEIGHT OF OUR NUMBERS.

ENJOY YOUR SPECIAL DAY: YOU'VE EARNED IT.

CHEERS
ALEX McALERY

100. Alex Speller: Happy Birthday from London, England

Time to take a day off from doing the dirty work that scientists shouldn't have to - put up your feet, relax, maybe even spend some time on some biology ;)

Thanks for your hard work spreading the word of reason.
