Book recommendations

Having just completed the latest of several of his novels I have read, I am taking a moment to recommend people to Christopher Brookmyre.
I know some on here are already aware of his art, but I cannot praise him highly enough.
He is the 1st President of the Humanist Society of Scotland.
He writes on a wide range of subjects, some popular with site members. Many of his books are relevant to this site.
He writes on education, politics, science fiction, the paranormal and on religious fundamentalism. All with black humour and an irreverent Scottish attitude.
In keeping with the focus of this website, I would particularly recommend A Snowball in Hell and Attack of the Inflatable Rubber Ducks (paranormal) and Not the End of the World. The latter is the most sustained, damning attack on religious fundamentalism, I have ever read in novel form.
He is the best advert for both humanism and Scotland.
RichardDawkins.net: Does anyone else have recommendations for books or authors promoting science, reason, atheism, humanism, secularism and rationalism?
