Is Hawking stealing Krauss' thunder?

Following the media furore resulting from the release of Hawking's new book, and after learning of the online discussion with Richard earlier today (something I totally missed at the time even though I logged on as usual earlier this morning - damn), I can't help but feel Hawking may be getting a bit of undue credit in this instance. Don't get me wrong - I have the utmost respect and admiration for his achievements and contributions to science and human knowledge in general, but having seen Lawrence Krauss discussing this particular issue some time back in his now famous 'A universe from nothing' seminar, I wonder if it might be argued that LK should be receiveing some recognition in this case.
Can anyone confirm who it was who first postulated the 'universe from nothing' that we see in this current guise? Has this been something on which SH has worked for some time, or is he simply reiterating the findings of others' works?
