I was having a rummage when I came across a 1942 book of cartoons.
There is one of Hitler and Mussolini approaching the Vatican about rumours of Vatican correspondence with Stalin. I thought those at RD.net would like to share this. The cartoon is from October 16, 1941, but some things don't date or change much.
The text on the facing page says:-
"Hitler had made great play with the "godlessness" of Bolshevism. At whispers of an exchange of letters between Stalin and the Vatican, Nazism temporarily dissembled its anti-Christian principles and Hitler was pushed in the Axis press as a new Luther."
