The Argumentative Theory of Mind

Hello, I came across this idea the other day called The Argumentative Theory of Mind. In short the theory is that humans evolved reason as a way to dominate one another through arguments, not to find truth to make better decisions.
I found this interesting as I believe that religion was made up so a few men could assert their power over other members in their tribes. This theory also explains why in the Jewish-Christian holy book Yahweh explains his rules by pulling the well because I am your god (authority) card, instead of an honest answer.
Another interesting issue is it also explains "faith". Faith as we know is not a good way to decide what is true and what it is not. Faith just simply means that you are trusting an authority. I think it is obvious that religious leaders (authorities) are simply using faith to convince people to become subservient to them, not give them any true understanding of the world.
Here is a link to the theory I look forward to reading what others have to say.
