Atheists are arrogant? I think the opposite.

First off, I would like to say hello to everyone as this is my first post on this forum. I've been reading the discussions and finally decided to post something I've been thinking about.
Recently it came to my attention that we atheists are arrogant. This is because, supposedly, we feel as though we don't need God. We threw him out of our minds because we think we are so mighty.
I think that is preposterous. I'm an atheist because God is illogical. I'm an atheist because I grew out of imaginary friends when I decided that I fancied reasoning.
When I think about it, and do correct me if I'm wrong, religious people are more arrogant. They believe that God, being the almighty supreme being who can do anything in the universe, spends his time judging them: Mere mortal beings who are less than a grain of sand in proportion to the universe. This is arrogant. Since when were humans so incredibly awesome? Since when were we so brilliant that a supreme overlord would choose to decide if we were going to heaven or hell?
I'm sorry that this is somewhat brief, but I have to go. Also, sorry if this is something that was previously discussed. Please comment and give your views on this. Cheers!
