Claim: God Exists
Side 1: God Exists.
Side 2: God Doesn't Exist.
Believer: Side 1 is 100% (or close to) chance of being correct.
Atheist: Side 2 is 100% (or close to) chance of being correct.
Agnostic: Sides 1 and 2 have 50% chance of being correct.
That's how I look at it.

Well, all those Left Behind books must just be preaching to the choir. All those responses to Harris' and Dawkins' books must be preaching to the choir. Any books that preach to the choir shouldn't be written.
Well, I guess any books that take a particular view point will be preaching to the choir, so most books shouldn't have been written.

Thanks for the link to PZ's article. It's exactly what I had been contemplating writing for a while, but with the added emphasis on historical examples. People say we're "militant" because we're attacking some of the basic tenets of society - and life. Any such movement, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, etc will get the majority calling the minority "militant".

I hadn't read the debate in its entirety, but my, oh my, Warren just kept getting beat.
But he's right and Pascal's wager highlights it; atheism has a bad PR campaign. I was given Pascal's wager before I had read the books by Harris and Dawkins and was subsequently unaware of it. Now, I'm ready for it.
