Solipsists don't believe in communication. Others don't exist.I don't see why; solipsists communicate with others just fine.objective reality existsAccepted as necessary for communication.
Can't communicate predictions if you can't make them.Actually it's necessary for making predictions, not for communicating them.the inductive method is correctNecessary for communicating predictions to each other.

Frankly, I'd prefer that someone create a fake Lucy identical to the real thing and send that on tour as the actual Lucy, while leaving the precious original in a bomb-worthy safe.
Some kook will try to blow up those old bones one day, believing he's ridding the world of Satan's lies.

Religious people say, "Religion isn't the problem; human nature is the problem."
I agree. Humans are too superstitious and gullible and consequently do a number of horrible things.
So let's teach people to be skeptical. No one should believe supernatural claims without corroborative evidence.

Science is a method for expelling hypotheses that fail. Organized science is a structure for expelling scientists who violate accepted rules of evidence.
What do we call it when people try to bypass the rules? I think we call that "cheating."
Misrepresenting how science works to the general public is far more dangerous than ID itself.
I doubt Stein personally believes in ID. He's part of a circle of conservative thinkers who feel the masses need mom, apple pie, and God. They believe benevolent centralized power is best for all concerned.

Would Scott brand this result unscientific because, well, basically because she does not like the result?Scientific theories are general explanatory principles that emerge from many detailed, specific hypotheses that have survived repeated testing.

Dianelos: Forget about my belief in Jesus's resurrection, that's a red herring.Take away God's interventions in our world, and you're a deist, agnostic, or atheist. If you say, "there are no miracles but God does everything" you're still a deist.
That's indeed the definition of "objective": totally independent from our opinion, and even from our very existence. So how do you demonstrate that some claim about the world is objective rather than subjective?

Dianelos: And pi by the way is not an infinite number but an irrational number. Steve, you really should go out and study the issues at hand a little more or at least do some research before responding to my posts a few minutes after I posted them, for it's tiring for me to constantly find myself explaining simple stuff to you. Things are really not as trivial as you think, and I am sorry that Dawkins's TGD confused you into believing that they are.LOL. Steve makes a slip of the tongue, calling pi "infinite" when he likely meant either "infinite number of digits after the decimal" or "irrational." Somehow this is Dawkins' fault.
So unless one assumes that the physical universe objectively exists there can't be any evidence whatsoever for the objective existence of the moon or of the Statue of Liberty. I hope you can see that.Something can be objective without being physical. But there's no practical difference between a physical universe and a universe that only seems physical. Might as well call both "physical."

Is this Benway? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benway
More of a maverick surgical artist than a doctor, Benway lacks a conscience and is more interested in his performance (and his next fix) than his patients' well-being.

AS = alaihi al-salam which means "upon him be peace".
Everywhere there is Christianity we see hypocrisy, because Christianity does not fit the nature of human beings. Islam accepts human beings as they actually are, and gives us laws that lead to peace and brotherhood.

There is only one true religion, and that is Islam as revealed to us by Muhammad (PBUH), the final prophet of God.
Prophet Isa (AS), who the Christians call Jesus, was sent by God. But his teachings were corrupted by the Jews, who re-wrote his words many times and finally made him into a God 300 years after his death.
Unlike the Bible which has many authors and has been corrupted and mistranslated, the Holy Qur'an is the unchanged and perfect word of God for over 1400 years, as Allah promised to preserve it till the last day for all of humankind.
The Holy Qur'an states, "They slew him not, nor did they crucify him but it was made dubious to them." Surah Nisaa, V 157.
Jesus (AS) spoke of the coming of Muhammad (PBUH): "If you love me, Keep my commandments. And I will pray to the Father and He shall give you another comforter that he may abide with you forever." (Bible, John 14-15/16)
The "comforter" was first "Pargaleeta" in the Gospels. But the word was deleted by interpreters and translators and changed at times to "Spirit of Truth" and at other times, to "comforter" and sometimes "Holy Spirit." The original Greek and its meaning is "one whom people praise exceedingly." The sense of the word, then, is applicable to the word Muhammad in Arabic, since Muhammad means "the praised one."
May Allah Guide all people to the Truth. Aameen.
