For once and for all.... to all the Hitler/Stalin centric atheist pidgeon holers!
Hitler DID NOT kill millions of people... his mostly Christian (high 90% I'd guess) German
soldiers did!! Where was their bloody magic Sky God then? obviously their religion seemed no impediment to committing any number of atrocities?
Stalin, the same... his lot heavily Xtian Orthodox... and if you doubt how strongly that set of beliefs held in the face of the Commie peril... have a look at how it re-surfaced after the 'fall' of Communism in the 90's? 80 years later!
let's agree.... a killing is evil, no-one who does it is any worse than the other, regardless of their garden and the fairies they may or may not believe reside there.

When I'm watching tv and I need a good chuckle I'm usually guaranteed to find it on The Country Music channel or the Australian Christian Network, there I've seen these clowns trying to give 'scientific' presentations to dispute Darwin et al, in Answers in Genesis. It is snake oil salesmanship writ large.... as WC said many years ago..'there's a sucker born every minute'. sadly predictable... and more than a little pathetic.

God is a human concept... a Christian who's read Orwell? I thought they were convinced Human was a God concept!
very confusing, I'll bet he's good at Twister.

Waxwings... a career in stand-up comedy awaits..
as I understand the word 'liberal', to be biased
in that regard would be nothing to be ashamed of.. as for your 'news' outlet of choice, Fox, it is a clue that anyone who puts the banner 'Fair and Balanced' on screen 24/7 has read Orwell, when it's obvious you have not.

to have a 'liberal' bias as I uderstand the word would be nothing to be ashamed of.. the fact that your news outlet of choice, Fox, has to run a logo 24/7 that they are 'fair and balanced' should give you a clue that they have read their Orwell and maybe you haven't?

As Veronique points out, RD has stirred up a hornet's nest in our 'paper of record', The Sydney Morning Herald... but that venerable old paper is a pretty conservative beast and even though the count is favouring RD at the moment, any other time the God-botherers get a very sweet run, and the rational/humanist is frozen out of the 'spiritual' (superstitious) debate.
I've read most of the bible and a more poorly written, patchwork of mediocre repetitive nonsense would be hard to imagine.
and nice to see the Tasmanian Tiger graphic making another appearance!

As an Australian atheist it does grate when I come across this kind of soft headed drivel.. we're in the grip of a shocking drought here as the climate has gone a little haywire lately (anyone else notice?) and sure enough a week or so ago when we had rain inland for the first time in 7 tears, there were articles in the daily paper about how 'prayers were answered'.. the Big Guy in the sky must have been deaf temporarily, or the Christian dickheads hadn't thought to pray for some time.. or it just rained.
When we had 2 miners stuck in a cave in for 2 weeks a bit over a year ago, people were beside themselves to shout 'miracle' when they got out alive. Unfortunately a third miner was killed, and I thought any bastard that was pushing the miracle angle should have been forced to front up to the family of the dead miner and explain why he wasn't also the recipient of this capricious deistic benevolence.
I don't think we have any more or less of this crap than anyone else.. but it is disappointing.

As a born and bred Tasmanian it's sad to see the Tiger posted as we managed to stop their evolutionary progress in the 1930's by making them extinct!
thankfully there are a few Devils left... with a face only a mother could love.
