Not to worry, my daughter went to Catholic school and her mother is a devout Catholic. It drove her to atheism faster than the Four Horsemen combined could.

The First Amendment would have to be severely altered to allow a policy like this in the US.

Before Al Gore was a Vice President, Presidential Candidate and Climate Change advocate, he was a Senator from Tennessee. He was raised a Southern Baptist. He still attends a Baptist church although he doesn't consider himself a Southern Baptist any more. I have skimmed his new book and it is a mix of good and bad. I would not call it a compelling account of an "Assault on Reason". He rails on climate change then turns around and uses biblical passages to preach the need for radical changes to public policy. How is this any different than politicians trying to insert ID into schoolbooks?
Much of the book breaks down to political squabbles that have nothing to do at all with reason but are relatively trivial policy disagreements, some of which I agree with and some of which I don't. If you're looking for a book on reason, this is not the one. If you're looking for an American style moderate left wing polemic, it's likely to satisfy.
