There have been Christians in China for hundreds of years. Traders and missionaries brought it up the Silk Road. It's not an hermetically sealed world.

There are many atheist writers out there. Perhaps Richard should reflect upon why he is specifically critiqued by many people as being shrill and intemperate in his language. It may be that it is ideological dislike of him. It may be, however, that there is a quality to his writing that warrants those critcisms. Engaging in self-justification is not entering into a 'rational' mindset. It makes us uncharitable and fogs our reasoning. Self-critique is far more helpful.
