1. Daniel Dennett Debates Dinesh D'Souza

I've watched D'Souza chatting to Stephen Colbert and he wasn't talking about God. I have never heard this man say anything that warrants the label "intelligent". In fact, every sentence he utters seems to be vying for a spot on some sort of "most bizarre" list.

I regret that Dennett granted him this debate - Dinesh is not worthy of his time.

phasmagigas, yes, he tried that one on with Hitchens as well. That's why I pointed out he was using exactly the same speech, word for word. No matter how many times he is rebutted on that point, he will continue preaching it to naive audiences.

That is why watching him is painful and debating him useless.

I have to say that I felt Hitchens did better than Dennett.

I say this because placing Dennett, a true scholar, next to the whiny and insignificant D'Souza makes for really boring debate. Dennett deserves worthier opponents, people who can bring at least two original thoughts to the table.

Hitchens had me laughing out loud during his debate, he knows exactly how to deal with people like D'Souza. I love his scathing wit and way with words.

Dennett lectures like a teacher, Hitchens tackles from the rear and hands his opponents their asses on a platter. Far more entertaining and more apt when dealing with such large asses.

Ugh. D'Souza is reiterating the exact same "argument" he used in the debate against Hitchens. Word for word. This is disappointing. He has only one speech and it's one long list of fallacies. And he insulted Dawkins. And he Godwinned himself within minutes. And I saw that he's bringing out Pascal's Wager soon.

The things I do to get to see Dennett in action. This, people, is pure devotion.

Inoculatedcities, I started writing my comment before I saw yours.

"He seems a rather smug, joyless twit, but excuse the ad hominem."

I concur.

I greatly admire Dennett. Having to watch that ignorant little twit D'Souza in order to follow this is pure torture for me.

My molars will be ruined before the end of this debate.
