1. Catholic maternity wards 'face closure' if abortion law passes

Comment #253462 by Pilot22A on September 24, 2008 at 1:04 pm

As prior posters have noted, the Christian (and other lesser or greater gods) abort millions of babies each year naturally.

But I guess it's okay for a god to do that, right?

2. Art teacher made student pray to Jesus for forgiveness

Comment #251239 by Pilot22A on September 21, 2008 at 9:01 am

Teach was out of line, but Riggs is wrong about the shirt not having any "foul language."

The word Scum, derives (correct me if I'm wrong," from the word "Scumbag." A scumbag then, as we all know, is a condom filled with ejaculate.

So, the kneeling and prayer crap aside, the school probably has the right to censor speech, as the courts have stated again and again.

3. Back from the grave

Comment #250461 by Pilot22A on September 19, 2008 at 6:03 pm

Of course this opens up lots of questions, like, how does this spirit thingy keep itself attached to the brain or body.

Why and how does it detach when someone is at a certain point in death?

And why, if billions and billions of people (sorry Mr. Sagan) have lived on this planet, hasn't anyone ever come by for a visit after death and enlighten us?

It's all hogwash, and hallucinations all tied up on one package.

4. Royal Society's Michael Reiss resigns over creationism row

Comment #248746 by Pilot22A on September 16, 2008 at 6:57 pm

quoting the article ... "... He is to return, full-time, to his position as Professor of Science Education at the Institute of Education."

I wonder what is worse, Director of Education or Professor of Science Education. Now he's back where he can actually poison young minds directly.

The Director job was part time, and maybe had no real effect on science.

5. Pope condemns 'pagan' love of money, power

Comment #247390 by Pilot22A on September 14, 2008 at 11:22 am

Does this indicate a shift in the Catholic Church's fixation on donations and acquiring valuable properties?

Will the Pope now sell all of the Church assets and distribute this obscene wealth to the poor?

Will the Pope forgo his generous retirement and live as a pauper amongst the sick and needy?

Yeah, right.

7. Science lessons should tackle creationism and intelligent design

Comment #246312 by Pilot22A on September 12, 2008 at 6:46 am

What's next? Bigfoot in Anthropology class? It just get's sillier and sillier.

8. It's no wonder evangelical atheists need to shout so loud

Comment #238161 by Pilot22A on August 27, 2008 at 4:47 pm

quote "... can an omnipotent God make a rock bigger than he can lift?"

Well, Barry, what's the answer?

Too bad part of being a believer is the tenet that one must not think.

What a waste of time that PhD was. Your mom and dad must be proud though.

9. Study: Conservatives Grow Wary Of Mixing Religion, Politics

Comment #236247 by Pilot22A on August 24, 2008 at 12:02 pm

The only reason the so-called "Conservatives" are concerned is because some of the brighter ones understand that if religion starts getting to cozy with politics pretty soon the majority religion figures their flavor of wackiness is better and shoves the rest to the back of the burner - so, it's only in their best interest to want to keep it separate

There will never be meaningful separation of church and state in this country until religion and churches lose their tax exempt status - until then, everyone reading this post is supporting every religion in their town by making up the difference in property taxes and such.

10. Muslims outraged at police advert featuring cute puppy sitting in policeman's hat

Comment #203378 by Pilot22A on July 2, 2008 at 6:30 pm

Didn't Muhammad, Islam's chief prophet, marry a 6 year old child, then have sexual intercourse with that little child when she was the mere age of 9?

Now that is ritually "unclean" to me, and despicable. Where is the Muslim's "outrage" over that outrage?

11. Responses to 'Gods and Earthlings' by Richard Dawkins

Comment #165941 by Pilot22A on April 22, 2008 at 3:58 pm

Dawkins isn't trying to prove the "Big Bang" mysteriously sprang from nothingness, as are the religionists. (If I may speak for Dawkins.)

I don't need to believe in a benevolent heaven and/or scary hell of the theists, I chose to accept that which is not understood as simply that which we don't understand. I chose to think that in the future, if religion spares the human race, we will discover and explain things like the "Big Bang" and what occurred, if anything, before that singularity.

12. Open Letter to a victim of Ben Stein's lying propaganda

Comment #165938 by Pilot22A on April 22, 2008 at 3:52 pm

Mr J actually has a bigger gripe against Rick Warren, "The Purpose Driven Life" than Darwin. The argument against Darwin is silly of course.

But Mr Rick Warren believes and teaches that each life has a certain meaning and purpose that is foreordained by some sillier god.

If that's the case, then Mr. J should be directing his hate against Mr. R. Warren because Hitler, and his actions, would be ordained by god for some purpose.

13. Ben Stein Vs. Sputtering Atheists

Comment #165930 by Pilot22A on April 22, 2008 at 3:42 pm

So Brent, how bout' those confounded Atheist scientists! Annoying, and the "arrogance," that they require truth be foremost in any scientific inquiry.

14. Resentment Over Darwin Evolves Into a Documentary

Comment #165768 by Pilot22A on April 22, 2008 at 9:21 am

Quoting the article: "the film links evolution theory to fascism (as well as abortion, euthanasia and eugenics), shamelessly invoking the Holocaust with black-and-white film of Nazi gas chambers and mass graves."

Belief in a god is the ultimate fascist machinery

- babies are aborted by this omnipotent god
- disease is rampant in the world, caused by this god's creation of pests
- people slaughter each other in the name of religion religiously
- the Abrahamic god(s) murder and commit all sorts of atrocities in the Bible
- and yet the creationists compare us/atheists with Nazi's?

- The Christian's god is the most horrific Nazi of all.

15. In His Name We Pray, Ramen

Does the Old Spaghetti Factory in Portland have anything to do with the Spaghetti Monster?

16. The atheist delusion

Comment #144757 by Pilot22A on March 16, 2008 at 5:33 pm

"proselytizing atheism"

Since Atheism has only one tenet, "There are no gods" it should be easy to convert the masses, wouldn't one think?

Once again, the Theist "Thinkers" have failed to actually 'think.'

17. Physicist Neil Turok: Big Bang Wasn't the Beginning

Comment #133157 by Pilot22A on February 25, 2008 at 6:04 pm

Branes (colliding ones) and String Theory have been around for a while.

I don't see much new here.

19. Inventor Doesn't Dare Say 'Perpetual Motion Machine'

Comment #124191 by Pilot22A on February 8, 2008 at 4:35 pm

I sorta disagree with the person who earlier stated "there ain't no free lunch" actually, the universe we live in seems to be just that.

20. Apologetic billboard replaces atheistic sign

21. Female Muslim medics 'disobey hygiene rules'

Comment #121524 by Pilot22A on February 3, 2008 at 2:38 pm

Just goes to show that Christianity doesn't have anything up on Islam on wackiness.

22. The devilish church practice of exorcism

Comment #114075 by Pilot22A on January 21, 2008 at 10:21 am

I am an old man now, but I will never forget the terror I felt as a child, going to bed on Sunday nights, after a day in church, and being frightened to go to sleep because I was sure the devil was going to take my "soul" because of some childhood error I had made.

I have never hated, except for religion and the despicable religious people who profited and profit from terrorizing others.

23. Science, Evolution, and Creationism

Comment #112006 by Pilot22A on January 16, 2008 at 7:41 am

"about the inability of science to challenge all religious beliefs,"

So, again the idea rears it's ugly head that somehow science should explain all of religion's inconsistencies, why is that?

24. Can Atheists Be Parents?

Comment #107477 by Pilot22A on January 4, 2008 at 3:26 pm

It makes one wonder what the birth parents were like.

They may be drugged out murdering psychopaths but this fundamentalist theist society allows them to breed.

Let the judge give the kid back, and see what kind of life she has.

25. Moderates Storm The Religious Battlefield

Comment #106334 by Pilot22A on January 2, 2008 at 5:07 pm

" Doubt, says Keller, is the cornerstone of faith."

That is silly, actually, gullibility is the "cornerstone of faith."

26. What We Believe: Atheism

Comment #105129 by Pilot22A on December 30, 2007 at 4:39 pm

He hit the nail on the head though when he said,

"... no two atheists hold exactly the same views because atheism isn't a belief system. It's simply a way of describing someone who doesn't believe there's a God."

27. Huckabee Stands by Christmas Campaign Ad

Comment #102728 by Pilot22A on December 23, 2007 at 1:24 pm

Just another jesus freak wacko, that's what this Huckabee is -

by the way, Wackabee, when you find that elusive jesus s**tbird, let the rest of us see him in person, or is he afraid of us?

28. 2 fleas for the Christmas week

Comment #102724 by Pilot22A on December 23, 2007 at 1:20 pm

Why don't you just prove all of those wild ideas you present in this book Keeran?

Otherwise, it is just "blah, blah, blah" and no facts to support you suppositions, as usual Mr. Theist.

29. Do the laws of God trump those of man?

Comment #100471 by Pilot22A on December 18, 2007 at 4:59 pm

A wacko by any other name, remains a wacko. What a shame this child had to be born to such a putrid specimen of the human family.

Hey theologians, if you want proof of no god, check this guy out.

30. This Week's Flea

Comment #100467 by Pilot22A on December 18, 2007 at 4:55 pm

Hey theologians, prove it.

It is that simple, if you can show me your god, and he can do some parlor trick for me, like smiting me dead, then I will believe. Until then, I am not afraid of the invisible gods and geography included your religious nonsense.

Once again, lots of hot air with absolutely zilch proof. In fact, most of these flea's tend to substantiate exactly what Hitchens and Dawkins put to us.

31. Is Infant Male Circumcision An Abuse Of The Rights Of The Child?

Comment #96621 by Pilot22A on December 10, 2007 at 7:07 pm

Human male mutilation without informed consent by the victim - it may not be analogous to female mutilation, but mutilation without informed consent by the victim it remains ...

32. Islam's Silent Moderates

Comment #95134 by Pilot22A on December 7, 2007 at 12:21 pm

It's hard to be a moderate Muslim (what an oxymoron, or maybe just moron) when one is at once beating and subjugating one's women and decrying the hijacking of Islam.

This is just another religion hell-bent on proselyting, by force, anyone who thinks.

33. Let us kill all the teddy bears

Comment #95130 by Pilot22A on December 7, 2007 at 12:14 pm

"Alas, I do not yet have a dog. When I finally get one, perhaps I shall name him Allah. Maybe I shall get a second dog and name her Buddha, my parrot Jesus"

I have two German Shepherd Dogs, and I would never insult either by naming them allah, jesus or mohammad.

My dogs are decent innocent creatures, and neither jesus, allah nor mohammad are worthy of capitalization, let alone worship.

34. Bah, Hanukkah

Comment #94492 by Pilot22A on December 5, 2007 at 7:30 pm

I am wary of and find useless all religions - especially those that promote child abuse, i.e. cutting the foreskin off of an unsuspecting child who cannot give consent.

If one smacks their child, one can land in jail, but the Jewish Faith is allowed to mutilate a child in the name of some invisible useless god.

Go figure.

35. Bad Faith Awards: Vote for the winner now

Comment #94445 by Pilot22A on December 5, 2007 at 4:59 pm

We need more Chuck Norris's. These guys are so wacko that their actions even make the Bible-Thumping crowd cringe.

Saturate (if that's possible) the entire Web with Xian Nimrods like him, and let them do our job for us, showing just how idiotic religion is.

ps to the Chuckster - I'm about a gazillion years old but you might want to think twice about betting you will ever be able to tattoo "In god we trust" on my forehead. I'll bet you couldn't do it without losing any eyeball or two.

36. Georgia plans service to pray for rain

Comment #86620 by Pilot22A on November 9, 2007 at 6:01 pm

If these guys believe in prayer, and an equal number of people in some other State pray that it doesn't rain in Georgia, whose prayer gets answered? I mean, let's say people in an adjoining State don't want people in Georgia to drown in floods, or think Georgia has enough water already, which prayer would more likely be heard by the xian invisible god?

37. The Turning of an Atheist

Comment #85009 by Pilot22A on November 4, 2007 at 1:46 pm

Then again, maybe he has begun to believe in a god, or some intelligence out there that created all of this.
In the end - there is still no proof of that and this is a sad exploitation of an old man.

38. Arguments From Design, First Cause, Something Rather Than Nothing, Fundamental Constants

Comment #82895 by Pilot22A on October 28, 2007 at 7:24 am

It's much easier for me to imagine "something" than "nothing."

Is this the case with other people?

39. Interview with Francis Collins

Comment #68941 by Pilot22A on September 9, 2007 at 7:33 am

It just goes to show that one can be really smart and still believe in the Magical Flying Spaghetti Monster.

40. Review of Darwin's Angel: An Angelic Response to the God Delusion

Comment #67063 by Pilot22A on September 1, 2007 at 4:23 pm

Sir, please give us some proof of your invisible god and his angels - until then, stop comparing your delusions to reality.

41. Lightning damages Jesus statue

Comment #49112 by Pilot22A on June 10, 2007 at 11:42 am

42. Hitchens, Sharpton and Faith

Comment #39009 by Pilot22A on May 9, 2007 at 6:18 pm

It's quite obvious that Mr. Sharpton is anything but that. He just wants/needs the stage, and content is meaningless it would appear.

43. Mormonism: A Racket Becomes a Religion

Comment #35902 by Pilot22A on April 29, 2007 at 8:35 am

I was raised in this wacko religion, and then I grew up and saw it for what it is, just like all the rest, a way for smart people to make a good living off of people who refuse to think for themselves.

BTW, anyone who has read this book, and I have (sad to say, several times) will just love the Book of Ether. Not only is it anesthetizing, but it speaks often of the Land of Moron, yup, moron, and the people who live there.

44. Tired of all the religious garbage? It's time to become an Enlightenist

Comment #21914 by Pilot22A on February 11, 2007 at 4:55 pm

We are Atheists.

We exist only because there are Theists.

The word Atheist fits and is appropriate.

Just because theists have turned this innocuous word into a byword, changes nothing.

45. The questions science cannot answer

Comment #21612 by Pilot22A on February 10, 2007 at 5:58 am

The usual attacks, without any proof that god exists or that religion has the answer other than to say that the theists "just know" that god is the answer.

46. Benny Hinn Faith Healing Scam - Burton and Tinkler

Comment #20684 by Pilot22A on February 5, 2007 at 6:04 pm

As Voltaire said:

"Religion began when the first scoundrel met the first fool."

If people want to give their money to this guy (and that is clearly what religion is about) then I have no sympathy for them.

47. Unscientific American: US Almost Last in Understanding Evolution

Comment #18641 by Pilot22A on January 22, 2007 at 7:21 am

People in the United States simply start out at a clear disadvantage when it comes to the Theory of Evolution.
As an example, when I would pose questions to my parents (otherwise kind and caring individuals) about the similarity of species (i.e., mammals) I would be given answers couched in Biblical teachings and other scripture.

If I persisted, I would be told either that I didn't need to know, or was on the path to apostasy.

This insane fixture that they had on religion was a great barrier to their intellect and sadly, didn't change in their lifetimes.

I am now in the twilight of my life, and it is with great satisfaction that I remember how I raised my children, to think for themselves and question EVERYTHING.

48. Noam Chomsky Interview on Faith

Comment #18488 by Pilot22A on January 21, 2007 at 7:26 am

According to this article by Norbert Hornstein,

http://www.chomsky.info/bios/1998----.htm

Chomsky is not a dualist.

Interesting.

49. Noam Chomsky Interview on Faith

Comment #18485 by Pilot22A on January 21, 2007 at 7:15 am

Chomsky is a dualist?

I can't see how he can hold this view and be an atheist.

It's the same sort of nonsense Sam Harris indulges in.

50. Radical cleric sparks fury in Australia

Comment #18220 by Pilot22A on January 19, 2007 at 4:14 am

So, Sheik Feiz Mohammed, if you are such a believer in the jihad, why don't you blow yourself up for the cause?

Let me answer that for you. You don't for the same reason all powerful and rich Muslims (and their children) don't. Because in the end you fear death and love life.

You wish the ignorant and poor to take THEIR lives in furtherance of YOUR cause.
