1. Logical Proof of the Existence of a Divine Creator, Why Atheism is Not Logically Sound

"an illogical fallacy"

Isn't that a double negative?

It seems no matter how we argue, we never gain ground with some people..

"Now that you rightly have earned yourself the title of leader of the neo-atheist, secular activists, I think you would do a great service to humanity to reject, as John Paul II did for Christians, the evil actions of a tiny percentage of atheists"

Why do the religious not seem to understand this?

Stalin being an Atheist is just a trivial fact about him. Atheism is not an organisation or a club where we all accept responsibility for each others actions in the same way that having a moustache is not a form of association.
He might as well ask for all people who sport moustaches, or the most famous moustache wearer, to reject Stalin and his regime.

Sure, most of us reject Stalin - but why ask Richard to? As if he is somehow the 'pope' of Atheism. Richard may be a famous atheist, but he does not represent Atheism. Nobody does. It is simply a fact that some of us share in common.

I once heard that the most common name for a newly born child in the Netherlands is "Mohammed".
I dont know if its true but I can imagine it is - there are a lot of muslims in holland and sadly I think it is an early sign of the beginning of the end for this liberal country.

Spinoza:
"Perhaps YOU don't get it. You seem to care more about "winning friends" and getting people on "your side" than you do about being capable of proving your case."

This is really the crux of your argument with yorker. You think this is about facts and proof. It is ultimately about facts and about proof - about what is correct.. but the atheist 'movement' is more concerned with our immediate goals:

Essentially to obtain political power. Facts and figures mean nothing if we have no voice and no recognition in the community.

By all means, educate the members of the RRS if you feel they are misrepresenting atheism - but we should not be about separation and segregation when we all have a common interest.

" The reply was to the effect "This is an example of flawed logic, i.e. Derren could convince you that you had a pain in your leg, even though you really did not, but that does not mean that physical pain itself is false and does not exist." "

The reply you got is an example of someone missing the point.

The point isn't that supernatural claims MUST be false because we can emulate them with trickery.

The point is that they COULD be false and we need to question them. The fact that the so called 'experts' of these areas never question Derren directly, should make us very wary of accepting these claims on authority or 'eye-witness' claims alone.
