Any subject with enough written about it will tend to have some absolute rubbish and some good material. I wouldn't be surprised if several works of postmodernism really had something to say. However, the majority of postmodernism is indeed complete rubbish. I'd compare it to religion in that sense. When a computer program can generate postmodernism that is no worse in any way than the real thing, they're in trouble. Just look at part of the definition on Wikipedia, for example:
embodying extreme complexity, contradiction, ambiguity, diversity, and interconnectedness or interreferentiality.[2]
So they embody extreme contradiction and expect to be right. Great!...

Why can't people like Barbara read the whole book, and not just small snippets that are not perfect?
If the Bible was treated in the same way, then it'd be dead.

Mr. Hedges' assault on Hitchens assumes many facts that aren't true, and is seemingly entirely an attack on a Straw Man, using loaded words. As usual, when reading some of these negative reviews, I can't help but think that they skipped a bit.
