on a sort of related subject...
Sir David Attenborough was interviewed on Jonathan Ross tonight (BBC), basically promoting is latest series "In Cold Blood" (reptiles, obviously) and commented that his new project will be titled "Evolution".
Can't wait.

Do you read any non-fiction ?

this thread is so appropriate to me just now.
I have a "creationist" cousin in the US who is one of the the "rank and file" pillochs mentioned above.
Her "probing" quesions so far have included how an eye HAD to be designed, why didnt apes evolve, yet humans did, and why would 2 species evolve from the original.
I feel like a kitten playing with a ball of wool..
Is there a pre-school book on evolutionary theory I can send her ?

having read this - and watched D'Souza in the Dennett debate - I have come to the conclusion that those two are either
A)thick as phuck
or
B)intellectually dishonest (a phrase often used by the theologians).
im going for B.

"I'll be outside having a smoke and a miniature" to make sure no question is unanswered - excellent.
I view Mcgrath as beneficial to our cause - he is one of the most cringeworthy talkers I have heard.
he said "Let me take this point further" several times and proceeded not to.
Hitch won with a KO

I also agree that its a good idea for schools to teach, or rather make known, all the worlds religion.
In my 10 yr old sons school they get have a class called "Religious and Moral Education" - which I object to as I do not see the link.
