OH YES!
i am so going to a museum this weekend. but which one, the Adler planetarium, the museum of science and industry, the Field museum, or the Shedd Aquarium.
if it wasnt for the fact i spent a good 3 days a month at those locations as a little kid i would so be jealous of this program. i might even take my mother for nostalgia's sake
2. If God Is Dead, Who Gets His House?

i dont like the idea of calling a club of atheists a church. a social organization that promotes rationality, logic, science, and life-long learning does not have to be a church. my philosophies are far different from my friends, yet we all agree there is no god. I also have problems with having a leader of an organization, power corrupts and i could see it turning out to be just as dogmatic as religion if leaders are put in place.
lol i liked ""they're so independent that if they want to get involved, they usually don't join an organizationâ€"they start their own."
damn that pegged me well.
3. Richard Dawkins' secular army must be stopped. God is behind some of our greatest art

lol, i'm actually trying to conduct a study to see if there is a relation between familiarity of the old testament and sadism, or if its purely coincidence most people that frequently encounter those stories enjoy seeing others in pain

"claims that values and ethicsâ€"defining what is right and wrong, good and badâ€"are not the sole domain of theologians"
i think that does belong in the real of theology, but i dont understand atheist's morality. how can you have evil in the first place?
amorality is the only rational view i can see. lol even one of the articles on this site had a study on morality, its so emotionally involved how can it even stand near the word 'reason'

We are a "Super-Tuesday" state; I predict Obama will win our state (MO) and most others.
and
Do we vote for the lesser of many evils? do we vote with our gut? do we vote for whomever? do we vote for whatever who gives a rip?
well i'll take it like i did the superbowl last year and favor my home team from illinois.
Or should we do a repeater, Bush took a positive economy and created a big national debt then Clinton put it back in place. now Bush jr created a HUGE debt, so will Clinton bring it back?
either way, slim pickings. a democracy is majority rule, when the majority is stupid so is the nation. i say we go with a confucian/plato hybrid of an aristocracy ruled by philosophers

i take offense to this as a member of the real NFL, the National Forensics League. that's the organization that should be getting tons of attention. not the intellectually decreasing one that kills brain cells by endorsing beer and fattening America by requiring large sums of food to watch.
8. Ore. Court: Boy Has Say in Circumcision

i dont know why, but this topic always enrages me. i just want to destroy whatever is close to me. anybody else have that problem?
but circumcision doesn't even make sense to begin with. there are huge groups of jews in america against circumcision. it is not part of their faith to continue it, it is part of their even more logically empty lifestyle that is based off of traditionalism. "well i did it, so should my son"

yeah, i live in a suburb of Chicago Illinois. i went to college in wisconsin, the most racist, religious, backwards state over the mason-Dixon line. i didnt know how many atheist were around. turns out, there's only a few of my friends that aren't. but they lack religious view so they are nothing.
i think its great that there's a good obvious symbol that isn't offensive. tho even if it was it would give me something to argue about.
