Friend Giskard, I disagree with your analogy. If an editor is certain that publishing the cartoon is going to cause riots somewhere and get people killed, what must he/she do?

2. CNN Request for 'I-Reports' on religion

I think we should also write to CNN about how morality is innate in us and does not come from the so called holy books? In mainstream media, one of the most annoying and frustrating questions asked is "Where do the atheists get their morals from?", implying that one can not have morals without belief in a god.

Several years ago my mum was "treated" by a homeopath "doctor" for stomach ulcers. This "doctor" was actually a real doctor who took up homeopathy (perhaps because there was more money in it?). How can the conscience of a real doctor allow this? Surely a real doctor must know homeopathy is rubbish? I was too young and ignorant then to stop my mum from seeing this moron for "treatment".

Do the homeopaths honestly believe in the nonsense that they peddle?

5. A Defense of Atheism

Should read: "I think most atheists probably don't feel any need to defend themselves and are quite comfortable with no belief system."

RAS, like Richard Morgan pointed out I think everybody has a belief system. The difference I think is that a rationalist's belief system is evidence-based.
