1. What We Believe: Atheism

Comment #104453 by bradpitcher on December 28, 2007 at 1:56 pm

We all know what D'Souza would say about this, right?
"But he owes his morality to christianity!"
The only reason this argument holds sway with anyone at all is because it can't be proven either way. Theists love using those types of arguments because it stalls the debate.

The problem with quicktime is that it's a proprietary format, so you have to either decode it with the official quicktime decoder or a decoder which has been written through reverse engineering. It would be better to use an open format that's fair game for everyone. Mpeg works but I would like to suggest Ogg Theora.

Are you talking about the "Bad Ben Intro" where they flash this quote across the screen?
"If people think God is interesting, the onus is on them to show that there is anything there to talk about. Otherwise, they should just shut up about it."

But aren't they ALL theories? So if someone says that evolution is a theory, one can counter with the argument that creationism is also a theory.

Definitely not. Creationism is a hypothesis, an untested idea.

8. Mormonism: A Racket Becomes a Religion

As an exmormon, I have to say this a very accurate and telling account. bravo..
oh and btw, the only reason it appears to be a fast growing religion (IMHO) is that when people stop going, they are still on "the list" and still get counted.
I am quite proud to no longer be on "the list" and if anyone else is interested:

Yes. Yelling at your child is legally considered child abuse. He can prosecute her if he wants. Or he can trump her christmas present blackmail by threatening to prosecute.

"Or just don't drive a car and stop supporting the oil-barons and automobile-maffia"

This is my approach. I won't drive a car again until we no longer rely on them for oil.

Fight terror, ride a bike!
