2. Man and God

Does anybody have any idea who actually wrote this rubbish? I would imagine The Times have a policy of running a religious based leader on Xmas Eve, and would have wheeled in one of usual suspects to pen the article. We've seen so much of this drivel on this site over the past year I have a nagging feeling that the prose is familiar. Cornwall perhaps?

3. Borders Tags Atheist Book with 'O Come All Ye Faithless' Cards

When I saw this card in my local borders (that's right, the one that's hosted our very own wee flea talking about the rise of atheist publishing), my initial reaction was - brilliant - where can I buy a pack of these? I think we have a gap in the market...

The movie industry routinely takes best selling books for filming - nothing new there. And I can think of a recent bestseller that would make an excellent cinematic experience.

God Delusion - The Movie !

Can you imagine the complaints about that one ?

7. In God we doubt

Is it just me or do I detect a change a tack from the faithful in these articles from John Humphrys and Jasmin Ahlibi Brown?

Both acknowledge the harmful effects of religion, but now argue for faith on the grounds that

1. Religion in useful.
2. 'Militant Atheists' are mean and arrogant.

I can imagine there being mileage in arguing for point 1, but point 2 is child's play to debunk, (although it may take a bit of self control:-).

Despite some of the drivel in both articles, strangely I feel cheered up by them. To me it feels like a step forward.

cheers,
