I am with you on that 100% goldy, I was just trying to rebutt in a concise way, as requested ( as if this were to be used in a debate).
And I didn't use 'I believe' because that gives mr theist another chance to go off on a tangent.
I used the question mark purely for this site, looking for flesh to add to the bone.

Atheism is self-refuting because it asserts that everything in the universe, including the atheist's own reasoning, came about as a result of non-rational forces. If that is indeed the case....

But this isn't the case. " Non-rational forces " is a red herring. Isn't atheism simply a rejection of theism and supernatural forces, as an explaination of the existance of the universe?
This being the case, we can proceed to explain the power of reason in evolutionary terms ( i will leave that to mr RD).

have 3 children non baptised or indoctinated with religion. 16 year old son has " rebelled " and is going to a born again church!
I am trusting you lot to give me a retort to magazine he has just come back with.. " the delusion of evolution " see www.newlifepublishing.co.uk and www.edge.org.
There is probably stuff out there that can help but fairly new to this blogg thing, and i know better brains here than me. One article header is " science's leading evolutionist admits he can't prove evolution " Complete with Mr RD picture and all.
I am not a scientist but smell a rat when mr RD is attributed with a pre determined belief - god does not exist - .
Also " his absurd argument that things aren't designed even though he admits they look like they are "
Typical intelligent design tripe - just need a hand with saving son!

Not read cornwall book, does he have anything to say about first part of TGD? Does God exist?.
It must be obvious to cornwall, God created everything (including cancer). God loves you and you will go to heaven (subject to status, terms and conditions apply).
Tell that to a teenager(hope he has been baptised) dying of cancer, and his family!
Consider yourself consoled.
