Most believers i have met in the UK seem to be Deists, i know many who profess belief, yet never go to Church, and one such husband and wife duo at my work even has a sticker on their car reading "The Bible is a good story, but so is the Lord of the Rings"
I dont have no surveys to back me up, but at least from experience many people in the UK seem to hog the middle ground, the Agnostic/Deist area as opposed to the strong Theist/Atheist. Though many don;t know what Deism is so put themselves with the other Theists.

I can see the articles point about Dawkins, in my experience from talking to many theists, Richard has actually made them cling to their faith alot more, and start spitting acid and defend it, as opposed to what he wants to do, which is make them question it.

I found she was great until halfway through, agreed with her on fundamentalism, agreed with her on separation of Church and State, although i also acknowledge its hard to get that in the truest sense.
After halfway through though she went a bit loopy.

Im not sure about this, on one hand i think its great they take on Scientology, but on the other hand i read somewhere many of "Anonymous" are atheists or agnostics, and i worry that if Scientology got hold of that and released it to the press (or the press got hold of it themselves) that it would give atheists a bad name and set us back in our own more peaceful, less in your face way of doing things.
5. New atheists or new anti-dogmatists?

Brilliant article. In fact the reasons gave in the article are why i think i will stop calling myself a "New Atheist" because that term has lead to confusion before, and start calling myself an "Anti-dogmatist" as i notice that when i say i am an atheist i often find it hard to convince people i see the good in the mysticism of Religion, that enlightenment, how it can bring people together in great ways but that i dont see the good in dogma as said here. Probably what the authors last section detailed is my main criticism of Dawkins and Hitchens aswell, sloppy language can lead to terrible misunderstandings, as all who have debated with theists before can no doubt can agree with.

Dr Calum MacKellar, of the Scottish Council on Human Bioethics, said the creation and destruction of human embryos was "extremely offensive to millions in the UK".

That makes me laugh, so Dr MacKellar asked millions of people what they thought of it did he? or is he typically just placing his own views as a majority, making it up that more are upset just so his own views get heard because he craves attention?
