4. Same Flea, Different Name?

That silhouette of a crucified jesus on the front cover looks like it's made of dogshit.

5. The New Atheists on Organized Freethought

Agree with the above comments about the RRS, they did themselves no favours on that podcast.

The highlight for me was pastor deacon Fred, they should have him on all the time.

On behalf of my country I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to the United States of America for inventing Harry Potter and sodomy.

6. Debate between Christopher Hitchens and Alister McGrath

Comment #79378 by jesus_christ_himself on October 17, 2007 at 5:33 am

I've recorded this to an mp3 file. Would it be OK to upload it somewhere or send it to the website? I'm specifically thinking about any copyright Georgetown University might have.

7. Review of Darwin's Angel: An Angelic Response to the God Delusion

Comment #66981 by jesus_christ_himself on September 1, 2007 at 7:39 am

I stopped reading here -

Cornwell clearly believes, as I do, that angels are not wispy, winged beings in ethereal nightgowns, but something far more subtle and profound: archetypal images that dramatise the invisible realities. As such, they can act as symbols for the formless elements of physics; but also for the creative imagination.

How about you?

8. Christopher Hitchens and Bill Donohue on Mother Teresa

An Englishman must remain stumm when an Irishman talks

Aaargh!! As an 'actual' Irishman (and an Atheist) happily living and working and living in the UK in the 21st Century, with many English relatives, it makes my blood boil to have that buffoon claim some romantic notion of Irishness as a cover for his loudmouthed ignorance, and to presume to able to speak on my behalf!!

Unfortunately it's the simplistic notions of people like this that fuelled a lot of the 'troubles' in Northern Ireland...

Sorry...just needed to get that off my chest!

Spot on aleprechaunist. A good rule of thumb is - if you come from Ireland, you're Irish. If you don't, you're not. Donohue comes from a little town just 3000 miles west of Dublin.

10. The Pentagon Sends Messengers of Apocalypse to Convert Soldiers in Iraq

Comment #64393 by jesus_christ_himself on August 20, 2007 at 12:46 am

"We'll hold the only religious crusade of its size in the dangerous land of Iraq."

The only religious crusade in Iraq. Are you sure about that?

12. Interview with Richard Dawkins on 'The Selfish Gene'

Comment #60937 by jesus_christ_himself on August 3, 2007 at 6:36 am

I've got an mp3 of Dawkins talking at the Edinburgh Literary festival a couple of years ago, before the GD came out. How do I post it on this site?

13. Fears Grow Over 'Mega Mosque'

Comment #56703 by jesus_christ_himself on July 17, 2007 at 1:39 am

I wish people wouldn't post articles from the Daily Express on this site. It is a nasty, spiteful, hateful little rag that makes the Daily Mail look reasonable.

14. Sally on Sunday with Alister McGrath

Comment #52813 by jesus_christ_himself on June 28, 2007 at 6:08 am

Besides not being able to save files with it, what's so wrong with it?

15. Richard Dawkins on his online alterego

Comment #50684 by jesus_christ_himself on June 19, 2007 at 12:31 pm

I tried Second Life once...and didn't have the patience to find my way off the learning island.

ditto

16. Rushdie knighted in honours list

Comment #50362 by jesus_christ_himself on June 17, 2007 at 8:00 am

What does Dicky Dawkins think about the monarchy? I'm sure a knighthood is just around the corner for him.

18. Beggars belief: Robin McKie on The God Delusion

6. Comment #47079 by Rtambree on June 3, 2007 at 1:15 am
I think Dawkins has raised some interesting questions, and there are certainly theoretical tensions to be resolved, but what I would like to say in response is to partly emphasise the significance of the trancendent experience and to partly clarify the explanatory power of the spiritual approach to the universe that has demonstrated its ability to transform lives, as Augustine said, due to its ability to reformulate the dialogue between faith and reason.

Is that clear?

- Alister ;)

Well done Rtambree. Is that a direct quote or did you make it up?

When I watched that interview he gave to Dawkins, I couldn't remember a single thing he said, even as he was saying it. He is such an intelligent man that I can't help feeling sorry for him. I know that is incredibly condescending, but to waste that intelligence tying yourself up in knots trying to justify christianity is tragic.

19. The Dawkins delusion

Comment #45875 by jesus_christ_himself on May 29, 2007 at 12:40 pm

Dawkins and Devil - The odd collusion
Dawkins, Harris and Hitchens on God - the squad's confusion
Dawkins on theologians - Roughshod seclusion

Well done. All those in ten minutes?

Another one that annoys is The Atheist Delusion. Silly. Just-Plain-Silly.

I listened to one of Alistair McGrath's lectures where he revealed this title to a room full of creationistas and they just lapped it up.

21. Christopher Hitchens and Al Sharpton: A Debate God Is Not Great

25. 1986 Oxford Union Debate

Comment #25343 by jesus_christ_himself on March 12, 2007 at 9:41 am

Does the Oxford Union always have so many (bad) cock jokes?
