Read The Demon Haunted World after reading Carl Sagan's Cosmos and it changed my whole outlook on life from that time onward. Which was a good thing I might add.

Happy birthday your books and talks have been wonderful and very entertaining. Your speech at the American Atheist conference in Minneapolis MN. was very well done. Hope your writing and touring continues to teach science and reason to those who want to learn about the real world.

If this nut job gets in we are all in bigger trouble than ever in the history of this nation. If Huckabee gets nominated I will be forced to vote democrat even though I can't stand either party with there backwardness.

Being raised a moron I mean mormon but never conforming this man is the scariest thing since obama after all he would like to see all atheists gone and the christian religion take over the country.

I agree with PZ Meyers I won't dummy down for someones silly beliefs, but I would work to educate and hopefully make people think more rationally about the world which we live.

Although I am glad the judge made the right decision I was perplexed at the teacher who was indoctrinating his children in the christian religion and the scientist who was roman catholic. Is it a wonder America is so fundamental in there dogma. America is still living in the 18th century still believing in that imaginary thing in the sky.

If I was well of financially I would support Ayaan but I would think with all the success of her book and being paid to speak at different venues she would be able to support her self.

I think calling ourselves non-theist is a cop out after all you don't think christians will change there name to something like imaginary sky god believers. I will stick to the wonderful word Atheist so the imaginary sky believers won't get more confused than they already are.

16. Sam Harris seems like a nice fellow, but very confused

I was never a believer in the gods but really didn't start calling myself an atheist until about 5 years ago after I discovered all those nice organizations on the web. I agree with P.Z. Myers we can't give up the label that is what brings us to gather.
Comment #77568 by evolvingalways on October 9, 2007 at 5:34 pm
I don't think the problem is with atheism it's with the people who don't want to embrace the reality it brings to life and that is something Sam Harris still hasn't embraced. Imagine if catholics,Jews,Muslims, and other religious sects gave up there name then we could probably give up the word atheist. But since people identify with each other, names will always identify with certain groups. So I will embrace the word Atheist and use it and say it proudly whenever I feel the need.
