PZ,yes you should have, and thanks. I've never heard you speak, and I liked your approach. It's important to reach these people getting lied too!
I was brought to light in this same manor. I'm sure it must suck for you, but hopefully many young minds will now have another avenue to research.
3. Interview with Richard Dawkins

Smith, I guess it means this;
In the unity of the Godhead there are three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, these Three Persons being truly distinct one from another. Thus, in the words of the Athanasian Creed: 'the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and yet there are not three Gods but one God'. P33, TGD.

As a parent with two young ones surrounded by religion within their school(my fault), friends, and family that hammers it from a young age, I think Richard should do the same.
Start um young with the truth, this is the next generation of clear thinkers, and I think his efforts along this front would be amazingly helpful(necessary).
Because of Richard, my family can now at least talk about evolution, different religions, and things we didn't before him(and others).
Thanks Richard, TF

I agree w/ Paula, and I'm not afraid to be one, nor defend the hell out of it(atheism). I don't like cream-puffin' it!
I've learned to beat them on their terms first(hammering the Bible, or whatever), then come in with obvious scientific proof. I sometimes can see it in their eyes, but money is powerful.
They really freak when they find I've read the Bible, that's funny. " Hmmm, why is it that I know more then you, and here you are trying to teach me". Sorry, this sucker ain't buyin'.

8. This deadly religious resistance to vaccinations
Comment #97029 by Tim Friede on December 11, 2007 at 9:58 am
As a primitive vaccinologist(non-degreed), I got a real hard time with this one.
I find it funny that religious folk often ask me to prove my vaccine works," go ahead, get bite by that black mamba, or better yet take a lethal dose".
Then I do, and they ask me if I'm religious, I must be to do that! I tell them that God just didn't save my life, science did. Actually, my IgG antibodies did.
Melanie, be very careful what comes out of your mouth, it's dangerous.I only post something when I'm sure I know what I'm talking about, and can prove it. You should follow suit! http://timfriede.com.
9. Daniel Dennett Debates Dinesh D'Souza
Comment #93326 by Tim Friede on December 2, 2007 at 5:43 pm
Just got done watching this, and the one thing that really pisses me off is this!
How can Dinesh have the balls to ask the people a question, and not answer what Dan ask him to at the beginning? Did I miss that, couldn't tell with all that meaningless crap inbetween?
I feel for ya Dan, I couldn't do it.
10. Science owes its origins to Christianity or Religion
Comment #84619 by Tim Friede on November 2, 2007 at 10:02 pm
Science owes it to these people, who actually work hard about thinking. Celsus, Galen, Hippocrates, Hunter brothers, Philipp Hohenheim, Darwin,Walter Reed, Louis Pasteur, E.V. Behring, E. Metchnikoff, Koch, Ehrlich, E. Jenner, P. Medawar,N. Jerne, K.Landsteiner, M.Burnet, C.Mathers, L. Pauling, Watson/Crick, C.Sagen,Richard F., Albert E., and Rhazes to boot!
Missed a million, but just thought about what a theist did to promote science, and make a major difference? Are there any? I don't know! If 99% of scientists are atheists, I guess not(knowingly). Hmmmmmm
11. Atheists don't believe in anything
Comment #84612 by Tim Friede on November 2, 2007 at 8:46 pm
We believe in ourselves, our logic, our eyes, and our honesty. We don't give up, we work hard to understand reason.
That's my first straight-up thought, kept short. TF
12. If you don't accept the supernatural, you obviously think life is depressing, meaningless and cold
Comment #83385 by Tim Friede on October 29, 2007 at 10:00 pm
Nope, just the opposite. B/c I don't believe I'll be floating around, or ever see the people I love after death, I spend every moment not wasting time. Every second is important, and atheism in me creates production with regards to time with family/friends/career, etc.
This is the greatest reward to me as a atheist. TF
