epeeist, you've made my day too. Think I'm going to get one of the T-shirts off that site that says 'Atheists Scream Your Name During Sex'!

2. Happy Birthday, Richard Dawkins!

Bon anniversaire from Belgium! Can't wait for your new book about On the Origin of Species. Am just enjoying The Ancestor's Tale (written and audio), and it is magnificent. Thank you for enlightening me.

3. BREAK THE SCIENCE BARRIER - Available Now on DVD

Great video, wish I'd seen it at the time. Better late than never, though. Thanks to RD and a few other great science writers I have been inspired to start studying again and am taking some courses with the Open University. Might even do a degree! Fascinating stuff. Wish science had been this interesting at school.

4. Richard Dawkins on The Big Debate

Comment #124701 by Miss Harry on February 10, 2008 at 5:31 am

Bujin - the baby-eating Bishop of Bath and Wells? Hilarious! Ok, maybe they weren't baby eaters, but a good reminder that Christian leaders in Britain weren't always as wishy-washy as the representative in this debate.

For me, what was worrying was the young Muslim girl who was insistent that she chose to wear the hijab, but then seemed a bit scared to answer RD on the penalty for apostasy in Islam. It fell to the twitchy Imam to (eventually) answer that one.

Oh, and I agree, should be Sir RD. What the heck, why not Lord, just for the irony?!

5. The New Theology

Also gave up before the end. Did he ever address the question of who designed the designer?

Some of the same things stood out for me as for others, though:

"...a divine plan so subtle it's almost invisible."

"...the process does not follow a preordained path, because God loved the world enough to set it free."

"Intelligent design's shortcomings as science are immense."

Oh my! More BoLlocks than BioLogos, methinks!

6. Why Christopher Hitchens is not Great

I'm an angry soul after reading this rubbish. It's not even grammatically correct in some places!

7. Richard Dawkins on The Late Edition with Marcus Brigstocke

Comment #109991 by Miss Harry on January 10, 2008 at 8:53 am

Marcus Brigstocke was on the Now Show again last week. His spot wasn't focused on religion this time, but he did use the phrase 'Thank Dawkins' instead of 'Thank God', which I rather liked!

8. Interview with Christopher Hitchens

Comment #101625 by Miss Harry on December 20, 2007 at 3:41 pm

Thanks for the support, Janus...I think. But no, I did think he meant it. Perhaps it's a cultural thing, since I'm not American. Maybe I didn't get the 'humour'. Either way, wasn't expecting that (Bonzai) sort of reaction to my first comment on a website like this. For some reason, I imagined the typical reader to be a measured, thoughtful type...my mistake.

9. Interview with Christopher Hitchens

Comment #100146 by Miss Harry on December 18, 2007 at 9:53 am

Strange interview...the guy tries to come off as being impartial but says he'll keep the book away from his sons. Yet again the misperception that atheists have no morals. Do these people really read the books before doing interviews? I haven't, yet, but look forward (with an open mind) to doing so, after I have finished Hitchens' bio on Thomas Paine's Rights of Man.
