1. Malaysia woman scores rare legal win to quit Islam

Comment #181103 by Dhamma on May 16, 2008 at 12:35 pm

When I stayed in Malaysia for a few months a couple of years ago I was taught this as well. But considering the muslims in Malaysia are really friendly it surprised me a lot that there is such a harsh law. Many muslims there didn't seem to care the least about Islam anyway. So this ruling is really good as it's saying it's acceptable not to believe in Islam. Hopefully a lot of youngsters will start some form of movement to get rid of a religion they don't even care about.

3. 'My daughter deserved to die for falling in love'

Sometimes, despite being opposed of the war, I'd like them to make the mid-east a parking lot. When I read what these assholes do and say, I truly cannot hold back the uncivilised barbarian in me. I question whether I'm truly against the death penalty for guys like this.

But then I realize I cannot go to their low levels, for then I'd just contribute to the hatred in this world.

4. Special Guest: Richard Dawkins

Nails: Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by saying "de-converted"? Are you joking that everybody's born as atheists and then their parents or themselves "convert" to some religion and then convert themselves back? Otherwise I suppose you just convert from a religion, or really it's not a conversion to anything at all. Can one convert to atheism really? Convert to reason I would like to say they do instead :D

5. Should Galileo's tomb be opened for DNA tests?

I'm not sure what I think they should do, but even I as an atheist feel that it's disrespectful to do so with a dead body. Sure, it's not like anything will happen since he's dead, but unless it's very very important I wouldn't want anybody to touch dead bodies. If someone reason that it doesn't matter as the person is dead anyway, then it also wouldn't matter if someone had sex with your dead body either. I think most of my fellow atheists would disagree with that stance, so the question is where you draw the line, and I think only if it's really important should we be allowed to take these samples. And I doubt this case is good enough.

6. Church is paying a high price for its celibacy rule

Comment #132803 by Dhamma on February 25, 2008 at 8:09 am

If anyone asks me, I find it very important they won't get out of celibacy, so that they can weaken themselves as much as possible. I think this should be one of the ways to attack religious people by emphasizing all their contradictions. One of the ways to win this "war", is by letting them be more aware of all the illogical aspects of their respective religion. Because frankly, they've refused to listen, so we have to get even louder, and I think we're doing a damn good job right now. Eventually it'll pay off.

How annoyingly weird this was to experience. Someone should lock up all these weirdos in mental institutions... I know that includes most of the world, but us sane most be able to walk the streets without having nut-cases trying to use scare tactics on us. Honestly we've got to make sure people won't believe in this crap any longer because it'll wipe our selves out of this world.
