1. Prayer to feed the hungry

Comment #190443 by joeyoap on June 9, 2008 at 5:33 am

You may as well rely on prayer as companies like Monsanto to feed the worlds hungry. They have only one concern-bottom line profit.Because the farmers have to buy suicide seed every year they get further and further into debt and are forced to plant ever more cash crops for the western market and less of the food needed to feed themselves.
I wouldn't trust global corporations to solve hunger problems anymore than I would George Bush to bring about world peace.

2. British Airways takes beef off the menu to avoid offending Hindus

Do you really all read the usual anti-anyone not white, middle class,English that that poor excuse for a newspaper writes and just take it at face value?Seems like a bit of good old fashioned racism to me,or at least a bit of bandwagon jumping in order to promote their right-wing agenda. There are enough genuine examples of bending over backwards for religion to get on your high horses about without finding phoney ones in that piece of crap.

Most of the friends I have that joined the military when we were growing up didn't do it out of any loyalty to a flag or any of that BS they did it because in the north of England in the early 80's it was that or the dole.

6. Top 10 Reasons to Believe Logic Over Religion

Why can't some of you just enjoy things for what they are instead of picking to pieces anything that doesn't live up to your high minded thinking. It's that very intellectual snobbery that turns so many people off reading forums such as these. As soon as someone posts something that doesn't live up to your standards you tear it to shreds.Just chill out and have a beer and a laugh occasionally.

As a recent arrival on these forums I already find it incredible that anybody even bothers trying to convince wooter of anything-ignore him and he will eventually go away.

Jon-Nobody has to suffer the religious shows that infect the airwaves because of an amazing censorship device known as the TV remote control.I do occasionally tune in though for comedy value.

13. Taking children for a ride

15. Interview with Richard Dawkins: On Christmas

Comment #102149 by joeyoap on December 21, 2007 at 7:17 pm

It seems like a lot of handwringing going on here.A general rule of thumb should be if you find it offensive don't sing it otherwise who gives a damn.If I feel like singing a carol(though I don't see the urge arriving anytime soon)I will and I really don't care what anybody thinks. My biggest problem with christmas in general is that my kids bankrupt me every year for a load of plastic crap.

16. The Pagan Christ

Comment #102145 by joeyoap on December 21, 2007 at 6:43 pm

To me it doesn't matter wether Jesus was real or not.It boils down to wether I believe in god/gods sons of god miracles tarot cards runestones or any other assorted gobbledegook. So who cares if he existed or not because even if he did he was no miracle worker. In 2000 years people will probably worship one of our times self proclaimed messiahs like for instance David Koresh but it doesn't make them messiahs.
PS apologies for the lack of comma's the key seems to have broken.

19. Clegg 'does not believe in God'

Comment #101077 by joeyoap on December 19, 2007 at 7:23 pm

When he was aked the question and said "no" he probably thought straight away something along the lines of "bugger thats all them wavering tory votes down the pan-a bit of backtracking might be in order here or my jobs on the line".You might think it spineless he probably thought it expedient.

20. Creationists plan British theme park

Comment #99602 by joeyoap on December 17, 2007 at 6:56 am

What scares me the most isn't the idea of the theme park but the fact that these people are already peddling the creation myth in our schools and trying to pass it off as science.
