1. Carlin on Religion

Thanks for helping to open my mind, George. Though your humor, you opened my eyes to a lot of the world's ridiculous shit (like, GOD for one).

I raise my glass to you.. You'll be missed.

2. 85% of Americans Want a Presidential Debate on Science

90% of all statistics are made up. Of that 90%, 33% is total bullshit 75% of the time (with the exception of .3% of the christian faith who believe in over 50% of it 20% of the time).

And now, a man with a radio in his nose....

3. Group finds Starbucks logo too hot to handle

If these whiners are offended by this logo - they should take a trip over here to Seattle and actually VISIT the original Starbucks at Pike Place Market. There is SO much more stuff that could offend them here besides a mermaid... Like the hot baristas, the massive Deja Vu across the street, the sheer number of freethinking non-theists wandering the various shops... I could go on.

Maybe we should start a "WE ARE OFFENDED" campaign too...
I think icanus is on to something...

5. Study: Religion colors Americans' views of nanotechnology

I thankfully live in a city that is rich with free thinking folks AND high technology abounds (you guessed it - Seattle).I'd like to see more data on the people that were surveyed... Were they college age kids, trailer park denizens, "wrong side of the tracks" people, gated community types, etc...

It seems to me that the most vocal opposition to ANY technology are usually hypocrites of the highest order. I was here during the WTO riots... those morons were out there trashing "Big Corporate America" while wearing NIKE SHOES, using their CELLULAR PHONES to coordinate, and I'm sure they planned it using E-MAIL and other INTERNET tools, and they DROVE in CARS that require GASOLINE... I bet you get what I'm saying.
I'm sure the anti-science crowd would change their tune in a heartbeat if we took their little gadgets away.
These pricks are just going to "cherry pick" the technology that suits them, just like the bible verses they glean to make it OK to "accidentally" bang a hooker on a friday night, or punch a kid.

You can't have a 21st century conversation with a 1st century mindset.

"Okay, so how should my funny atheist book go?"

How about a children's book in the style of Dr. Seuss?

Actually, I think a freethinking book for kids wouldn't be a bad idea. It would certainly be better than those horrid childrens illustrated bible that the "flocks" are trying to push on our kids...
