Something else that strikes me. Whenever Dawkins, Harris, Hitchens, Dennett etc are interviewed they are asked, however briefly, to explain their position and give some kind of evidence. The same is almost never asked of the Theists.

I'm so glad that in my science class in college my teacher said (after explaining evolution):
"Well that's Evolution. Now to demonstrate Creationism."
He then took out a bible and started hitting one of the kids in the front of class why yelling "God did it!"

gkkalai - As far as the founding fathers being hypocrites, Jefferson, at least, was greatly troubled by the hypocrisy of calling all men equal and still having slaves. In his writing he talks about it a lot. It came down to his convincing himself that slavery would be abolished "eventually." A sort of mental, and moral, bending backwards.
