Hi, I followed Lionel's link to the scumsuckers myspace. It's like a black hole of wilful ignorance.
However, the poll is overwhelmingly against them. 9000 plus as against only 600 or so. Seems like the saddoes who are "friends" can't use myspace polls.
The crawthumping triumphalism in the comments is hurl-inducing, however.

Wonderful story. I'm still laughing since I read P.Z.'s original post, and this is the gravy on the icing on the cake (if you get my drift). As long as we continue to make our points with clarity and reason, who cares what trolls like clearthinker say?
He's trying to start one of his interminable little niggles, without of course ever addressing the real issues. Ignore him, eventually he'll just dry up and blow away. Also, re the whole "gauleiter" thing. It was an entirely appropriate use of the word, given the incidents earlier and the attempt to link images of the death camps with Darwinism. Any writer worth his salt would be happy to use the word BECAUSE it would bring up those associations. Let's not get so P.C. that we end up looking up our own backsides.

Hi, coming in late on this, but I feel the need to draw Shrommer's attention to the extremely nasty Samaritan's Purse organisation. Check out this link for more info http://www.pursestrings.ca/ .
My sons' school used to organise a box collection for this bunch, as did an individual in my own workplace. Their promos and ads were carried gratis by our national transport company. I managed to score some damaging and informative articles, specifically in The Independent newspaper (GB), and the above site, made LOTS of copies, and with the help of a sympathetic teacher in the (catholic-run, long story) school, got the creepy jesusterrorists out. Still working on the bus company. But I think the word may be out, they weren't as noticeable this year over here. Same effect in work, too. It's amazing how few people read the fine print in the S.P. pamphlets. Anyway, we move forwards, with small victories.

Yeah, definitely, echoing AllanW. Inarticulate, rambling jesusterrorist. Sad git, too.

Fighting Falcon, re 56, as you say, there are many flood legends in the middle east region. The Black Sea flood of approximately 7000 years ago looks like a source for many of the stories we're familiar with now. Here's one of countless links you could follow up; http://www.world-science.net/othernews/071119_flood.htm. There's a considerable amount of speculation around the idea and much work to be done, but it makes a lot more sense than a hairy sky fairy with persecution issues . Also regarding the general topic, can I recommend a reading of Arnold Toynbee's "Mankind and Mother Earth" . At the risk of cliché, it changed my life at the age of 18 Anyone else familiar with it?
