1. The Boundaries of Belief

I know someone who is very much Christian but says they would not describe themselves as religious. Weird.

Whilst the survey shows some very interesting things about how the Christians answering the survey view politics and science, there are a few other interesting results in the Psychological Beliefs section...

As a child, I had a very good relationship with my mother:

All things considered, I have been extremely fortunate in life:

I am worried about my personal future:

A am more honest than the average person
It is easy for me to socialise with strangers
People who know me think I am wise
I want to amount to something in the eyes of the world
I like to be the centre of attention
I get frustrated quickly
I am going to be a great person
I have very deep friendships
I like to look at myself in the mirror
I tend to be shy in social situations

Are atheists dysfunctional, poorly rounded and self important individuals, or do Christians view themselves and their life through conceited, rose tinted glasses?

I think you give ID proponents too much credit. From a quick glance at fstdt you can spot gems like "I won't beleive in evolution until I see one species give birth to another, like a dog giving birth to a fish" or "If science disagrees with the Bible, then science is wrong". In Europe we can let them wallow in their own ignorance. I've got a lot of sympathy for America where the education system is being hijacked.
