1. Richard Dawkins' secular army must be stopped. God is behind some of our greatest art

Comment #160299 by BathTub on April 13, 2008 at 11:00 pm

I'm quite sure I've heard Richard Dawkins advocate study of the bible as literature and an important cultural history document plenty of times, so I really don't get his point.

4. Christopher Hitchens Debates Timothy Jackson

Comment #122986 by BathTub on February 6, 2008 at 10:25 am

Once I got the sound sorted and it was listenable this was quite a decent listen, Hitchens was very funny.

5. Math Religion Trouble

I read Innumeracy a few years ago, quite a fun book.

6. A War On Science

Comment #105658 by BathTub on January 1, 2008 at 12:43 pm

Ah I didn't realise how old this was. I think the Nova special on the Dover Trial is much better.

10. The Four Horsemen: on Christmas

Yes, I would love some HD content. I would probably even pay to download it.

11. Richard Dawkins on 'Have Your Say'

Comment #95925 by BathTub on December 9, 2007 at 1:31 pm

Wow that was painful, I'm certainly glad Prof Dawkins didn't back down, but I do wonder what kind of shreds Christopher Hitchens would have torn off Father Morris.

But yeah, so much waffling, and rambling. You could see that the host would bring up an email to cut off the questioner in a slightly subtle way.

12. Daniel Dennett Debates Dinesh D'Souza

Comment #92874 by BathTub on December 1, 2007 at 4:15 pm

Ok that was just really painful (Literally for D'Souza, stop yelling!).
I don't think either of them did particularly well or really even tried to stick to the topic.

14. American kids, dumber than dirt: Warning: The next generation might just be the biggest pile of idiots in U.S. history

Comment #81682 by BathTub on October 25, 2007 at 3:09 am

I think it's becoming clearer and clearer, that if I am ever lucky enough to have kids, that I must never let them watch television. Well at least in a babysitting sense.

15. Catholic condom ban helping AIDS spread in Latam: U.N.

Comment #80891 by BathTub on October 23, 2007 at 11:42 am

"Shouldn't we use a condom?'
'No! That would be sinful!'
'But isn't this affair a sin?'
'Ummm, I missed that sermon."

An unfortunate example of people 'cherry' picking what they want from religion?

17. Teacher: I was fired, said Bible isn't literal

Comment #73524 by BathTub on September 25, 2007 at 7:33 am

This is the kind of story where I feel the need to wait a bit and try and find the other half of the story before coming to a conclusion, something is missing.

18. Open letter to YouTube video

Comment #70590 by BathTub on September 16, 2007 at 7:32 am

The Richard Dawkins YouTube account was closed months ago, been wondering why as I never saw a reason.

Youtube is really weird regarding this type of stuff, it's basically a case of who is the most organized and makes the most noise.

21. The 'Is God...Great?' Debate

Comment #48173 by BathTub on June 7, 2007 at 12:44 am

I dislike the fact that people keep ignoring the reason Zombie did that in the first place.

We are lucky to have what we do, at least for the time being.

24. The Archbishop whose words came from same hymnsheet as a Marxist

Comment #25183 by BathTub on March 10, 2007 at 5:42 pm

Presumably god was just speaking to the Archbishop through Terry Eagleton.

26. She told them the boy was dead

Comment #19330 by BathTub on January 26, 2007 at 8:40 am

In fact this week Randi's column is entirely about her.

27. Discussion of The God Delusion

Comment #18003 by BathTub on January 17, 2007 at 10:21 pm

Yeah the usual 'have you even read the book?' sort of review.
