Thanks for the link coretemprising.

I have also discovered that when the series was re-issued as a 'Collector Edition', they made the whole lot Region 0 i.e. region free.

I've no excuse not to get this excellent series. It will make a nice accompaniment to Dr. Jacob Bronowski's 'The Ascent Of Man' which is also stunning on DVD.

Incidentally, I did a quick search on YouTube for some Cosmos clips and in the short space of 10 minutes of one clip, I found myself learning things. Things such as: two humpback whales can still communicate underwater at 20Hz even though one is near Alaska, and the other is near Antarctica!

Well I never…

A truly humbling and awe inspiring piece of film. I wonder if Cosmos is available to purchase on DVD? I'd love to own it.

You may find the following link amusing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYOYfG0QGG0

Thanks

Atheist's Wager
The Atheist's Wager is an atheistic response to Pascal's Wager. While Pascal suggested that it is better to take the chance of believing in a God that might not exist rather than to risk losing infinite happiness by disbelieving in a god that does, the Atheist's Wager suggests that:

You should live your life and try to make the world a better place for your being in it, whether or not you believe in God. If there is no God, you have lost nothing and will be remembered fondly by those you left behind. If there is a benevolent God, he will judge you on your merits and not just on whether or not you believed in him.

Just an observation...

"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the Sun has risen — not only because I see it, but because by it, I see everything else,"

One can be deluded in believing that the Sun 'rises' as one can be deluded about religion. Or you can observe that the Sun APPEARS to rise, as the Earth spins on it axis every 24 hours. Knowlege, science (truth) and reason are the only things you should look to 'see things by'.

It is at least the second time McGrath has used this CS Lewis quote in his articles. Seems a bit odd to me.

5. Interview with Alister McGrath, author of 'The Dawkins Delusion?'

I've just noticed the question mark in the title of McGrath's book. - 'The Dawkins Delusion?'

The answer is no.

End of.

I've just sat through the entire thing (12mins ish).

I've seen lots of strange things on the internet in my time, LOTS OF VERY STRANGE THINGS. But I don't think I have ever seen anything as worrying as this. There are certain 'undertones' to this that make it very uncomfortable to watch.

I feel sorry for the children that have to endure this stuff.
