I couldn't bother reading past the point where he states that all living creatures were designed with a male and female so as to propagate themselves. Not even worth the effort.
Although its printed in the CFP, the author is from Florida. Not that we don't have our embarrassments (lookin' at you BC Human Rights Tribunal).

Believe it or not one of the best science teachers I've had was my Trade Electrical teacher, probably because he had to teach electromagnetic theory to people who wouldn't normally be interested in it.

What an offensive bit of pandering to PC over-sensitivity. Truly shameful for us to allow so much power for the thought police.
I've written my letters to the BCHRC and my local MP.
4. God and Science Collide in Nation's Capital

I don't think anybody who considers themselves religious in the sense of the Abrahamic traditions would agree with the kind of god these people are talking about.
It sounds like the way in which they are so easily able to reconcile god and science is by envoking an Einsteinian god.
This article is a nice gesture, but it doesn't really approach the reality of the debate.

Just horrible. Can anyone provide a more convincing argument for the malice of faith than the father himself?
Of course this won't even reach the level of public outrage and media support that the cartoons inspired for fear of offending their right to murder eachother.

WTF is a "sociologist of science" anyway? That sounds like a fake degree he just made up.
7. Losing Our Spines to Save Our Necks

The way that our prized social structures throughout the civilized world have declined to protect our hard won freedom of expression is absolutely abhorrent. If the enactment of our convictions so readily crumbles in the face of bullying then what do we have left to be proud of (and not in the least to protect us)?
I think if more people would eschew the idea of an afterlife there would be more outrage over destroying even a single person's freedoms in this one.
8. Shaw TV Interview with Richard Dawkins

She was nice enough, it was just a little funny some of the random and ill-informed questions she came up with.
He was speaking at the University of British Columbia that day. Hopefully someone has a video of it.

It is enjoyable to hear some background and more casual discussion of tangents without hostility bringing it back to banging out the same old points.
The interviewer is daft though - she reminds me of how I must sound trying to be coherent when I'm woken up by a phone call.
10. Evolution's Critics Shift Tactics With Schools

A teacher's stance on evolution ought to be enough to disqualify them from being allowed to teach. No matter what the courts tell them they must present, creationist teachers will always slant their presentation of evolution.

Right on, I missed the last few minutes of this when it was on the air. The ads on CKNW really are hard to endure.
