1. Premier debates with Dawkins

Comment #272994 by maxamillion on October 28, 2008 at 2:20 am

Is Premier a Fundie Christian organisation?

Dawkins admits to Premier that there must have been some cause for the start of the universe.

I never trust a person that uses the word admits when the subject of the question has never been denied.

Holy crap, when did Carl Sagan write "The Demon-Haunted World"? Seems rather prophetic, to me, if you'll excuse the religious metaphor.

Checkout Carl's Speech from 1994

http://www.pointofinquiry.org/ann_druyan_science_wonder_and_spirituality/

Carl Sagan's last public address for CSICOP, from its conference in Seattle in 1994, is presented in its entirety. In this keynote, entitled "Wonder and Skepticism", Sagan eloquently conveys prescient insights about the future of science and technology, argues why science is the best way of looking at the world, shares almost prophetic statements about the cultural war against science in America today, passionately calls for tempering skepticism with a humane understanding of why it is so easy in our society to not be skeptical, and encourages the listener to foster such appreciation for this kind of skepticism especially among young people.

The speech starts about 40mins in, the entire podcast is quite interesting. In fact I have a copy of all of the podcasts from POI, they are very interesting.

1:25 - He will pray behind the Mahdi and then Islam will rule the entire world

1:41 - I must oppose any ideology that strives to rule the entire world

Yeah, I didn't want to make it too easy.

This may be the interview that Richard talks about.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHsQtbvU9IU

Looks more like some evil dude from a James Bond movie.

I'm guessing that the last half of the interview he hides his eyes so the the audience can't tell he is lying.

Spot the contradictions!

7. Palin: average isn't good enough

Comment #263834 by maxamillion on October 12, 2008 at 11:31 pm

I might have called Mr. Palin a "frat-boy" or a "lumberjack."

Begs for the lyrics, sorry.

Composers: Terry Jones, Michael Palin, & Fred Tomlinson
Authors: Terry Jones & Michael Palin
Arranger: Fred Tomlinson
Lead Singer: Michael Palin

BARBER:
I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay.
I sleep all night and I work all day.

MOUNTIES:
He's a lumberjack, and he's okay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
BARBER:
I cut down trees. I eat my lunch.
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shoppin'
And have buttered scones for tea.
MOUNTIES:
He cuts down trees. He eats his lunch.
He goes to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays he goes shoppin'
And has buttered scones for tea.
He's a lumberjack, and he's okay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

BARBER:
I cut down trees. I skip and jump.
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing
And hang around in bars.
MOUNTIES:
He cuts down trees. He skips and jumps.
He likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on women's clothing
And hangs around in bars?!
He's a lumberjack, and he's okay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
BARBER:
I cut down trees. I wear high heels,
Suspendies, and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie,
Just like my dear Papa.
MOUNTIES:
He cuts down trees. He wears high heels,
Suspendies, and a bra?!
[talking]
What's this? Wants to be a girlie?! Oh, My!
And I thought you were so rugged! Poofter!
[singing]
He's a lumberjack, and he's okay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
He's a lumberjack, and he's okaaaaay.
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

8. Christian group calls for a Christian university in Britain

Comment #259803 by maxamillion on October 4, 2008 at 1:16 am

Dr Paterson...a specifically Christian university could be to ghettoise students and leave them ill-prepared for secular life

So is this an admission that Christian universities are a waste of time?

"ADD LANDON LOCKHART, THAT IS ME!"

There are several LANDON LOCKHART's

You mean there is somewhere on Facebook to have a debate?

I never found Facebook to be of value, perhaps there is more?

Nah, I just went through my profile and found all these invitations from people I don't know.

I thnk this quote from the readers comments in the linked article says it all really.

Supernatural? Since when did Christianity become supernatural? It's not witchcraft, and it's not a myth! We have evidence; it's called a Bible!!

As I have long suspected christians not knowing what religion is.

Or perhaps it Poe?

I appears that this guy can't decide.

Creationist Adnan Hoca's views evolving

It is possible to be a good Muslim and a Darwinist at the same time, one of Turkey's devoted supporters of creationism, who earlier defined Darwinism as a deception of Satan, said at a press conference Wednesday.

This guy is not too impressed with him either.
http://whoisharunyahya.wordpress.com/the-collapse-of-harun-yahya-in-20-answers/

Well, we have 17 documented lies already and we're only halfway
through Oktar's mindless trash. How sad is *that*? In part two,
we'll provide answers to the remaining ten Yahoo bullshit questions
and see how many more lies we can count.

Even Joe Morreale pays a visit
Archeological researches unearthed over a hundred million fossils, proving that life forms were created out of nothing. Still, there is not a single transitional fossil supporting the theory of evolution. If Dawkins is sincere in his claim, he should bring a transitional fossil and announce it to the public as "a transitional form!"

Perhaps Oktar is not alone altough this guy doesn't like him
http://www.shajaracode.com/pageID_6117600.html
Darwin embraces Islam 125 years after his death and visits Makka

The idea is that Darwin as a Muslim and stole the idea of Evolution from Ibn Arabi.
Thus, like Ibn Arabi before him, who was the first to suggest that man evolved from the ape by divine intervention, Darwin should be placed amongst the undiscovered great Muslim scholars of all time.

The bottom line is that Oktar is a Creationist copy from ICR, Discovery Institute Et Al.

Why stop at Cucumbers ?

"They regarded the cucumber as male and tomato as female. Women were not allowed to buy cucumbers, only men.""

So does that mean that men that buy Tomato's are gay?

Female goats are in trouble also.

"They even killed female goats because their private parts were not covered and their tails were pointed upward, which they said was haram."

This story is about Al-Qa'eda in Iraq.

Too many religious leaders telling their parishioners that they are worthless and too many dolts believing it.
