I haven't read all of the above posts so apologies if I am repeating, but this is a fucking joke. It should come as no surprise that the Mail has leapt upon the story with its sensationalised reporting.

It's a fucking dog, and a cute one at that. People in Britain generally like dogs and, by the way, they are used widely by the police force. Why a picture of one can cause offence is frankly beyond me. Unless it's something to do with the hat?

If I discriminate against someone one the basis that they follow a religion, e.g. Islam, will people not just think I'm a racist anyway? Just a thought and I might be wrong, although that's never happened before.

Stibbe wants to adopt the chimpanzee primarily so he has somewhere to live when/if the animal sanctuary closes. Is it not possible for her to have the ape living with her without bringing this case to Court? I seem to remember having a Guinea Pig when I was younger, and we just took it home and looked after it. I think it was called a "pet". Or can chimpanzees not be kept as such?
